the trailer had not been swept from the previous rental, and the right turn signal and brake light did not work. since this was a hardware store, and not an actual U-haul location, they did not offer to fix the lighting issue, stating that they would need to contact the u-haul rep to repair it. they gave me the option to take the trailer as is or just cancel the reservation. no offer to assist in finding another suitable trailer nearby. the parking lot did offer easier access to pickup the trailer; more open that the tight lot for my previous des moines rental
Douglas MI felt it was very poor customer service for U-Haul to require me to drop off the trailer at a location that was 30 minutes out of my way and not give me any compensation for that
