There was always good access with the carts which made things much easier than other storage companies

The online check in process is supposed to be convenient and easily accessible but that was the opposite of my experience. The check in instructions should be emailed to the user. That would have eliminated a lot of issues. I was not able to log into the app because the systems were down, and that delayed my move in by a whole day. I needed to call support to get in, and I was just told “our systems are down. You will have to try again later.” When I was finally able to get in, the self storage facility would not accept my access code. I could not get in even though it was before 10pm. I texted the contact number, but no one responded. The next morning, I went to move it, and my unit was locked. The rental started on June 7th, and the unit had a lock on it until the 11th. I was not able to get into the building before the 11th, and I needed to leave. The employees did not check to make sure that the unit was ever vacant and said that they did not have bolt cutters. There were no more units in the building so I was told that I could wait a day or go somewhere else. Again, I did not have time to wait. I had to go somewhere else that was more expensive than the unit I had booked. This should not be allowed. I rented the unit, and it had been occupied by someone else for five days while I was paying for it. I received a refund but I should be given money for the new storage unit that costs more. I will never use U Haul again after this experience. I wasted about an hour at the first location trying to figure out an alternative and not being helped.

My husband was told that he had up till 5/16/2025 a Friday to be cleared out without paying another monthly fee. When we left on Friday we were told he may have to pay. So obvious miscommunication between the personnel. We were told be out by Friday and that’s what we did!

carmen v | Overall ExperienceThe friend who assisted my move in noted how much lighter, cleaner and brighter your facility was compared to my former one which we had just left. I NEVER felt safe there. It was dark, damp and the elevator often did not work. On 2 occasions I encountered people living in their storage units; one even cooking which worried me about fire destroying our storage locker. I don't worry about that at my U Haul storage facility .

Office STILL kept sending emails, leaving voicemails. Unit padlocked upon return and late fee assessed. I know you run a tight ship… but SOME accommodations should be possible for long time customers who communicate clearly.
