What should have been a straightforward moving process turned into a stressful situation involving property damage, an insurance claim that felt mishandled, and a serious bed bug issue. After the move, I had to file an insurance claim due to damages, and the payout offered did not align with the itemized list and documentation I provided. Communication around the claim felt unclear and dismissive, leaving me to repeatedly follow up just to get basic clarification. It felt like the burden of proof and resolution was placed entirely on me as the customer. Even more concerning was discovering bed bugs shortly after using U-Haul storage. This raised serious concerns about cleanliness, sanitation standards, and customer safety. Dealing with a pest issue on top of an already stressful move and insurance concerns was overwhelming. Moving is already a high-stress experience, and I expected more accountability, transparency, and care from a company of this size. Unfortunately, this experience has made me very hesitant to use U-Haul again or recommend it to others unless significant improvements are made in customer support, claims handling, and equipment maintenance.

Michael P | Overall ExperienceMy experience with U-Haul Storage was great with the exception of finding rodent droppings all through my unit. When I occupied a unit on the 4th floor , there were no rodent droppings found until I had to move to the 5th floor. This concern was brought to the manager’s attention on several occasions, but I received no response. In the future, remember the customers are I trusting the personal belongings and family history with you all. Thank you
