I had a five-day U-Haul trailer rental and was charged approximately $30 for an additional day. After contacting U-Haul customer care, I was advised to use the one-month free storage promotion and return the trailer the same day to avoid further late charges, which I did. I arrived at the location and unloaded the trailer myself on-site, which took a reasonable amount of time. Although the trailer was returned the same day as instructed, the system processed it as an additional day and charged me again. Customer care confirmed this situation qualified for a refund (as I was in the premise way earlier than the end time) and attempted to contact the location, but no one answered. When I later spoke in person with the general manager, the refund was denied based on a technical explanation that did not align with customer care guidance or the circumstances. I am requesting a refund of the additional ~$30 charge, which I believe is justified given that I followed U-Haul’s instructions and returned the trailer the same day.
