I did this reservation a couple weeks in advance to ensure I had what I needed. I needed a truck, and some dollies. When I arrived, I was told there are no dollies, there never are at this location, it's not a real Uhaul location, and I can go get one at another location that's a real Uhaul location if I still wanted them. The app let me reserve equipment that wasn't available, and no one reviews the reservations to ensure everything is good with the reservation and the customer will have what they need. Go to another location? Sure, on the day you're moving and have a busy schedule, insert an hour to go to another location, wait in line, get what you need, and then get back on track. And, pay milage on your truck to do that. If I go to the app next month and can still reserve equipment at this location that isn't available there, I'm going to make noise about it. Promise. My Instagram & Thread accounts are helpful. There's also only one employee working at this location--to serve THEIR business--postal annex customers. That's not just for that day, that's the normal business model. I discussed it with them. It's a small location and there's only one employee working during business hours. There's also no after-hours drop off app capability. The gas tank wasn't full. Uhaul charges customers who don't bring it back full. Uhaul takes care of themselves and gets that money but doesn't do anything to help the customer. I only have to bring it back to the same fuel level. So, I get to guess how much gas that is, right? And what if it had less than a 1/4 tank when I picked it up? I get to deal with that and try to ensure that I only put in enough gas to do what I need, and that it'll be back on 1/4 tank when I'm done? Nice. No. Uhaul takes care of themselves for this and doesn't take care of the customer. They take the money and leave the problem to the next customer. There's no one at this location that can deal with that either. One employee, remember? They can't leave the store, lock the door so their own customers don't go in when it's vacant, and go fill the gas tank. And, they can't do a proper check out or check in when a customer rents a truck. "Go take pictures and bring them back to me please, I can't leave the store". And, there's no remote app checkin/checkout process here at this location. Who made this arrangement, and why are they not smart enough to see that it's a terrible situation for the customer? Lastly, on customer service...I googled it and see all kinds of information about how Uhaul aims to provide “exceptional customer service”. Really? The arrangement at this location doesn't align with that. And, what kind of customer service is it when in the back of the truck there's a sign that says fold the moving blankets and sweep the truck to avoid fees? What if McDonalds had signs on the tables saying remove your trash and wipe down your table to avoid fees? Customers are likely exhausted from the move, and related stress, and Uhaul won't take 10 minutes to fold the moving blankets and sweep the truck for them as part of “exceptional customer service”? As soon as I click "submit review" here for your feedback, I'm going to Google Maps and posting the same review. This is amateur hour. Do better.
Robert MThe location itself was more than sufficient. The problem is U-hauls reservation online system allowed me to reserve equipment that the location does not have, specifically a appliance dolly / hand truck. The location advised me of such and indicated the charge would be removed. IT DID NOT HAPPEN, IT IS STILL ON MY FINAL BILL!
Jeffrey HI've had good luck at secondary locations.
James HThe desk lady is not happy to be renting uhauls and she will let you know. Completely unhelpful
