Our initial rental was from Statesboro, GA to Dublin, GA. I pre-registered my DL online and verified everything the day before the rental. When we went to pick up the truck, the pick up location had been changed to Savannah, GA (we were not made aware). Savannah is 1 hour away in the wrong direction so, as you can imagine, I was scrambling to get this cleared up. We lost the help of all the movers we had already lined up because it took 5 hours to get things resolved and the truck picked up in Dublin (turns out, the truck was not in Savannah either) and back to Statesboro (to drive back to Dublin!). It's the dead of summer in GA and the temperature on that day was 98, so the move turned out to be BRUTAL!! Especially trying to find people to help load an entire 3 bedroom house at the last hour. On the flip side - the customer service agents with U-Haul (there were 2 involved) were polite, soothing (yes - I cried), and did their best to help resolve the situation as quickly as possible. Customer Service is the only reason I would use U-Haul again. Both agents were responsive, nice, and actually sounded like they cared about what was happening. In 60 years I have moved many times and know how to organize a move. This was the worst move I can recall to date! It was time consuming, over initial cost, overly exhausting, and very emotional. Had we been able to pick the truck up in the location we had secured (at least the correct CITY), then all would have been okay. U-Haul failed on this one!!!!! They did not communicate when they had to make a change. A phone call was warranted and should have been made the day before or as soon as U-Haul knew there was a problem. They didn't. U-Haul had a monumental FAIL! The pick up location in Dublin was fine, but the gentleman changed our reservation from one way to round trip (the CS agent kept it as one way to help on the mileage since we had not requested a round trip initially). Turns out, it messed up the mileage and cost me more money, and the gentleman advised that he couldn't make the change. He had been unaware of what had happened with the truck (said there were no notes), so he had to charge me the extra mileage. Another situation to deal with.

The location i picked it up was very helpful. The lady I called at the beginning of the process was very polite and professional. The trail worked well and I had no problems with the trailer. Monday afternoon I had unloaded the trailer and some issues caused me to need to drop the trailer at my last location(Valdosta GA). I call UHaul and asked if I could just drop the empty trailer at a UHaul dealership in that town(it was about 250 miles from where I got it). I tried to explain the problem with the woman on the phone but she was very unconcerned and short with me… only quoting police and fines… I tried a second time with the same results. I don’t understand way logistics and common sense are completely ignored with your company. If it was my trailer and someone offered to leave it 250 miles off the road at another of my dealership I would say thanks and consider it a good thing for me. My trailer would not have those extra miles put on it, another person could rent it sooner and it’s a win-win for both of us. But instead I drove it back empty, put unnecessary miles on it and will never use your rude unreasonable company again. Y’all need to train the woman who speak with the customer how to be courteous and professional and maybe just a little bit of common sense!
Keith HThe issues I have are with the reservation and the truck itself. The pickup location I reserved was near the house and two days before I was scheduled to pick up the truck I was notified that I had to pick up the truck at a different location that was 50 miles away, making me drive 100 miles before I could even begin loading the truck. Additionally, there were multiple issues with the truck itself. The front passenger tire PSI was at 60 PSI and the windshield wipers were completely worn out. During out drive we had to drive through multiple storms resulting in me having to pull over and stop because I couldn't see because they were working so poorly.
