Truck almost didn’t start. Need to check battery on truck
Maria MReservation #21486911. I reserved a 6x12 trailer at the Potomac Mills U-Haul in Woodbridge, VA. The printed reservation receipt was $38.45 with $34.95 in summary of charges and $3.50 taxes. Meaningfully more than the daily advertised rate of less than $20.00. When I showed up to the location on 3/31/2026 at 11:00am they did not have a trailer for me. They sent me to another U-Haul location off Possum Point Road in Dumfries to pick up the trailer I needed. I returned the trailer that day before store closing. I asked for a printed receipt. They said it would be sent via email. I asked how much they charged my credit card and was told $47.25. I asked why it was higher than what I was quoted and was told there was $8.00 additional for insurance (safe tow). I told the representative I didn't ask for and didn't want insurance. He said it was transferred from the original reservation at Potomac Mills. This was not true since I provided him the original printed reservation receipt. The representative at Dumfries didn't discuss the optional insurance with the person that was in line in front of me...perhaps they just added insurance without their knowledge, just like happened to me. This type of practice is deceptive, abusive and not ethical.
