This was the first time that I rented a U-Haul Truck. I did not realize that I could not drop off the truck and trailer at the most convenient location. When I asked the attendant if I could drop off the vehicle there, he said sure no problem. I received a bill for $840 from U-Haul a couple of hours later for dropping it off at a different location. The attendant should have told me that I would need to take it to another location or I would be charged, I had no idea. I had driven the truck almost 5,000 km. across Canada I wouldn't mind taking it a little farther if I had to.

The service to get the truck was pretty easy and straight forward, but the box of the truck had a substantial leak, and since we were moving on a rainy day, there was about 2" of water in the cargo box. We used one of the moving blankets to try to absorb some of the water, but when we arrived at our destination it was saturated and some furniture got soaked and has water damage. I can't blame the renters, as it was a manufacturing problem, but a severe leak like this should not happen in a nearly new vehicle.

That was a bit disappointing since we were on a relatively tight timeline, but otherwise the rental experience was fine overall. The site owner needs to update her address with UHaul.
