Your agent was difficult to understand and contentious. Agent could not speak English well enough to be understood and this resulted in several misunderstandings. I had a large house to move over 900 miles and was charged for an extra day when I was a couple hours over my return time. I was late because I had to make extra stops along the way because the mirror on the truck was loose and constantly needed adjusting. I was exhausted, my bank account drained and I feel that the extra charge was unjustified especially because of the extra stops I had to make. In addition, there were several U-Haul trucks on the lot so your company was not losing any customers on my account. U-Haul should provide a more flexible return policy by allowing a waiver for some or all of the late fee when a customer returns on the day designated but a couple hours late, especially because of faulty equipment. I will not rent from U-Haul in the future nor recommend your company others.
ALVIN WHe charged me a $25 cleaning fee because I had yet to take my purse a water bottle out of the truck when I turned it in. He charged me over $200 in extra charges when the gas was only short by less than a quarter of a tank. I’d filled it up completely at one point for $65. I called and added an additional day and the kind lady on the phone told me it would be $40 for the additional day. She did not mention anything about me getting hit with an absurd amount extra charges upon turning it in. He also charged me for being 10 minutes late even after I explained the situation with the traffic I encountered and having to pull over to check on my cat in her carrier who flew across the cab of the truck when the traffic came to an abrupt halt. The location I dropped off the truck was very rundown and in an iffy side of town. The man was not accommodating at all. In feeling that I was being taken advantage of in a big way. I’d like to know if he makes a commission of some sort. Lastly I asked for an itemized receipt and was told it’d be emailed. This is not right at all. I want the itemized receipt ASAP.
