The dealer tried to accuse us of damaging a part located on the roof of the van. When we returned it, he went straight to inspect the roof—almost as if he already knew what he wanted to claim—and immediately tried to pin the damage on us. We returned the van in the same condition we received it, with a full tank of gas, and well within the 4-hour rental period. It was obvious he was trying to scam us. He wouldn’t even look us in the eyes, only asked whether we had purchased damage insurance (we hadn’t), and focused on the roof. This wasn’t our first time renting a truck or van—we usually go with Budget and have never had issues. We even told him to check the cameras, and I followed him to make sure he didn’t lie. In the end, he admitted the footage wasn’t clear and said he’d charge the next renter with insurance. That confirmed it for us—a complete scam. Never again will I rent from U-Haul.

Pick up was easy and the owner let me park my car on their location until I completed my move and returned the van.
Danny PThis is a no-frills U-Haul rental station that doubles as a wireless phone store, apparently. Everything went smoothly and the operator is a cool dude. I was a little miffed by the gas situation though. I was told there was "half a tank" in the truck and to return it with the same amount of gas. As I drove away, there was clearly less than a half tank - somewhere between a quarter tank and half tank. So, when returning, I put $10.00 of gas in, which brought it a hair below a half tank but certainly more than what was in there when I began. When I returned the truck, I was told the gas level was short and they would either assess a staggering $14.50 fee, or I could go add a few more gallons of gas. I chose the latter, spending another $8.00 in gas to get it to a half of tank. So let's do the math here - I drove a documented 33 miles in the truck, and a gallon of gas costs roughly $3.25 a gallon. I spent $18 on gas, which is 5 gallons of gas. Are they telling me I used 5 gallons of gas on a truck that only went 33 miles? The truck gets 6 MILES TO THE GALLON? I doubt it. All in and all though, good experience, good hours, would use again.
ROBERT SClean the vehicle. No parking, online check in process is terrible (U-Haul problem) Not truly on online check in process if I have to interact with someone to get the keys.
