We were given less than 24 hours’ notice that our reserved trucks would not be available at the location we selected, but instead over 80 km away. To make matters worse, we later discovered that our chosen pickup location has been closed for months — yet it was still listed as an option during booking. This is blatant false advertising, and incredibly misleading on U-Haul’s part. Because of the limited operating hours at the alternate location, we were forced to rearrange our entire schedule — including asking our kids to leave work early — just to pick up the trucks in time. This significantly impacted our move, especially as we had help scheduled the following morning. The problems didn’t stop there. The employee who checked us in mishandled our reservation, assigning one truck to the wrong driver and giving us fewer kilometers than required for both vehicles. This created confusion when we contacted U-Haul for help and complicated our use of the vehicles. To make matters worse, one truck had only a quarter tank of fuel and the other a half tank. We were expected to drive more than 80 km without any information about the fuel efficiency of the trucks — a clear safety hazard. We filled both trucks immediately out of caution and notified U-Haul. The first technician we spoke with was helpful and submitted a ticket for mileage compensation, including our request to be reimbursed for the fuel. However, the second technician was dismissive and offered only a $50 voucher per truck — which we still have not received — and refused to acknowledge our valid concerns regarding fuel reimbursement. The interaction was unprofessional, frustrating, and emblematic of the poor customer service we’ve received throughout this process. We have since returned the trucks early, fully fueled — a courtesy that U-Haul clearly does not extend to its customers. We’ve done everything possible to make this work, despite U-Haul’s repeated failures to honor its commitments. At this point, we are demanding a call from management, not another ineffective ticket. We expect proper compensation for the gas, a resolution regarding the vouchers, and an explanation for the unacceptable state of your booking system and customer service process. Not providing full fuel tanks for long-distance travel is not just unprofessional — it’s irresponsible and unsafe.

SCAM Today we came to pick a rental truck over this branch girl named ANNA tried to scam us as when we go to drop off the truck she has gone to check the truck and she came back with results after checking she said there’s a error of parking brakes that’s just the indication of parking brake. She must be educated that the parking brake is not error.
Navjinder KHello, I'm not sure if the issue I had with UHAUL was a UHAUL issue, or a location issue. Trying to rent the truck was so frustrating. I had a booking and that was fine, but when I came to the location to pick up the truck, the computer system was VERY slow. There was one person in front of me, and it took about 1/2 an hour for them to get their truck, then it was my turn. Again, the computer was so slow and it took another 1/2 hour to get my booking processed. I had people waiting, ready to load the truck and this delay caused issues. I will say that the man who was helping me was very apologetic and tried to help as best he could. So...to whoever maintains the computer system for UHAUL, please upgrade it, fix it, or whatever needs to be done to make booking and picking up a truck easier. Thanks!
