We are now at our third location. The car dolly is not ready as they had to change the straps (four bolts) and almost an hour later. I drove the car on the dolly and U haul personnel tied it down. We stopped several times to check the load. At about 700 miles in the mountains it was found that the straps were off one of the tires. We could have lost the entire load in addition to loss of life. It was determined the strap was not behind the round bar as stated on the bar. I tied the load down myself at this point. Called U haul and complained. They told me to wait until I finished my trip and call them back. Next day delivered the unit to our destination. They prepared everything to unload while I was in the car to back it off. Something did not seem right so I asked the employee if he unhooked the chains. He had not. I now called U haul customer service and talked to Shelly again like they had asked. They recorded everything and said a manager would contact me within 4 days. After 5 days and no one contacting me I called them and Kimberly transferred me to Tyler the manager at 2847 E Main where they had not secured the load properly. He said all he could do was give me $50 off. I told him that was not a satisfactory solution but an insult. We almost lost our load and lives. I then called back to U haul and informed them I did not want to talk to Tyler again but wanted to move up to a higher level of manager. Danielle informed me a regional manager would contact me within 2 days. That expired as of tonight. The reference number is 1093753. The folks at Customer Service are very good and are trying to do their part. I am not sure anyone else at U haul knows what they are doing. I have used U haul several times over the years but am now done with them. I have called multiple times giving them the opportunity to work with me before writing this review. My advise, do not use U haul.

Tow dolly was old and the straps were a pain in the ass to get to work.. Had to use a screwdriver to get straps loosened enough to use.. Ratchet kept slipping when trying to tighten down to hold wheels in place.. STAFF was AWESOME, friendly and helpful!!!

I actually love U-haul. And have always rented from this company. However the location at 2947 east Main Street Mesa Arizona U-haul moving and storage at main and Lindsay was the worst rental experience I have ever done. First our 10 ft truck was not available as scheduled. The customer service kid there downgraded me to a van with a bad transmission and no furniture dolly or flat dolly as also requested when I made the appointment, and after a long fight with my husband over those dolly being missing and returning to this location to switch a van out. I was given an unclean vehicle which was crawling with live cockroaches. And after numerous calls to rectify this with customer service, traffic control and routing to acquire a new truck wound up moving in the roach van anyways and now will be using an outside moving company to complete a move that was botched from point of pickup. Horrible location that needs to have district management due a full review before someone gets injured driving broke down cockroach ridden vehicles run and maintained by poorly trained staff who do not value their jobs. It's a poor mark of customer service that is tainting he good name of U-haul and I will be disputing this whole charge with my credit card company immediately

I rented and reserved a 10ft truck on may 7,16. Salesperson did not let me know about a 75.00 deposit charged to my acct, when I brought the truck back later that afternoon, he told me he would reverse it, but apparently my 30.00 bill came out if the 75.00 deposit, and I did not have enough money in my acct, I just had enough for the original bill of 30.00! My bank charged my acct 34.00 for NSF. I wish I would have known up front with a deposit, in the future you should let customers know how your policies are! Signed a very unhappy customer!

Service man lied and said i returned the truck empty when i only drove 15 miles. Then charged me $45 to fill it up. This location has terrible ethics, and i will be seeking a lawsuit.

James was the employee that assisted me at check-in. His lack of customer service skills was concerning. What concerned me the most was James never asked if I had driven a cargo van before. He didn't give me a quick walk-thru. He didn't ask if I had any questions. He literally pulled the van up, jumped out and said "there you go" and walked off. His attitude at check in seemed as if he was just going through the motions. Left a negative impression on me. That said, the cargo van I rented did what I needed it for. It wasn't very clean on the inside but it's a U-HAUL, not a luxury vehicle. This location seemed to have a good fleet for selection and inside they were stocked with lots of moving supplies.

The only improvement would be to have a human come with the U-Haul 26 ft. truck to lift boxes in & out of the truck. This was a very good 1st-time experience. ALL three of the gentlemen working the counter were very helpful & all had smiles to pass on to us. Thanks !

The dolly in the back took up space. If it hasn't been selected as an additional feature somebody wants to pay for, then don't have it taking up space when we could use that space for other things

As always way understaffed and the help that was there tried and seemed to want to do better but as is the case with UHaul they weren't trained properly. I have come to ALWAYS expect this kind of experience with UHaul.
