After picking the truck up, one block away I noticed the ‘Low Fuel’ light came on and the gauge was BELOW ‘E’.! Had to drive 5 miles to get some gas. After that, the truck was fine.

The person who checked the vehicle back in after I returned it would not explain why the bill was higher than quoted. When I pressed for a reason he just said "I don't control," then said I had to refill the gas tank. I pointed out that I drove the vehicle 8 miles total and put enough gas back in to keep the indicator at the same level as when I got it - which is what the contract requires - then he turned his back on me and walked away. Another worker from the location spoke to the first worker in Arabic at length then turned to me and said I would have to talk to U-Haul for an explanation. Neither of them were aware I could understand a fair bit of Arabic, after hearing them talk I pulled the receipt email up on my phone and discovered that the reason the bill was higher was because the first worker had put a $25 cleaning fee on it. The vehicle was not clean when I got it, as I indicated and photographed when I did the pre-rental checklist. When I pointed this out, the second worker seemed surprised that I went straight to the truth of why the bill was higher, then nodded and shrugged, and said, "Yes, I know, he made a mistake. I will refund you the fee within an hour." An hour later I had seen nothing for the refund, called customer service myself, and had the $25 fee refunded. Had I not insisted on seeing the bill before I left and questioned why it was higher, I would have been ripped off for $25. They knew what they were doing, and did it deliberately. This is not the sort of customer service I expect from U-Haul. I suggest you do some serious training with the personnel at that location.
JON RTruck was filthy. Guy was asleep on the desk when I walked in. Made me do the check in again even though I had already done it online.
JENNIFER CI was over charged by $60. Denied use of a hand truck, wasn't able opt out of personal property insurance. And had a false report upon returning the rental
JASON PThe truck I was assigned was in very poor condition. The truck had not been cleaned after the previous use. Items and trash from the previous user were present in the cabin and cargo areas. The driver's side mirror was loose and would spin around 180 degrees when braking and spin back when accelerating. The wiper blades were streaking. The brakes were squealing. Definitely the worst U-Haul vehicle I have ever driven, and that's really saying something. Then, when I returned the truck, you had the nerve to charge ME a cleaning fee! I should charge you for having to adjust and tighten your driver's side mirror. My hourly rate as a professional Automotive Technician is $200/hour.
