Returned after hours. Did not see local personnel. Recommendation. With today's technology, would like to see trailers equipped with rear camara that would bluetooth connect to a vehicles dash camara system. Cars traveling to close behind get lost from view from The side mirrors. An app on the vehicle could allow constant viewing.

Every year for the past four years I have rented a car hauler at the Cheat Lake, Tyron Road location in Morgantown, WV. I’ve spent $400 here on average each time or about $1,200 in four years. The past two times I’ve rented here, have been disappointing. Under prior ownership, I use to receive an enthusiastic welcome each time I rented. I felt welcomed and appreciated by the woman who greeted me. The way I was treated made me want to pass by another uhaul dealer and come to this one nine miles further away from my home. The two most recent times I have rented under new ownership, I haven’t felt welcomed or appreciated. I felt like I was somehow bothersome to the man behind the counter even though I wasn’t mistreated by him. I got this same treatment from him at the prior year’s visit. It’s the difference between encountering someone who sees me as a valuable customer with a history of patronage at this establishment rather than just the next in line who could be anyone. Even though I was the first one in the door to pick up the car hauler, I was left to hook it up myself while the man who promised to come down and help me, hooked up a trailer for the woman who arrived after me. Thankfully, I’m very capable and he did eventually verify I hooked it up correctly before I left. This time though, my safety was put at risk. One of the tires was low on air but it wasn’t obvious when I picked up the trailer because it was empty and it was parked in tall grass. I only noticed it once I loaded my car onto the trailer and by that time I wasn’t anywhere convenient to air it up. When I finally got to a convenient place to air up the tire, I’m 90 minutes into the haul. I’m fully loaded with a show car worth $100k. When airing up the tire, I discovered a nail in the center of the tread and when I put water on it bubbles came out. It was more than 20 lbs low. My wife called the dealer where I had picked it up earlier and got the voicemail. She left a plea for help and asked for a return call. HE NEVER CALLED US BACK!!! It’s a Wednesday in the early afternoon. I know they are open. No call back to give us instructions on how to make a roadside assistance call and no call back the next day to see if everything turned out fine. Yes, we figured it out on our own and UHAUL roadside assistance was perfect. I also figured out that if I’m going to be treated with what appears to me to be apathy by the person behind the counter, it might as well be at the dealer closest to my home. The thing is, when you have a relationship with an establishment, where you feel valued and appreciated, the inconvenience of this event wouldn’t have the sting that it has now. When someone at an establishment cares to know who I am and appreciate me as a customer, when something goes wrong, and something will always go wrong eventually, I know I have a trusted partner who has my back and will help me. I don’t have that with the Cheat Lake UHAUL dealer anymore. I once did.
