We had ordered3 dozen blankets and when we arrived to pick up the truck they only had 3 that was a bummer if they had of let us know ahead we could have made some other arrangement but they said they didnt know ahead ...so we had to unpack to get our blankets bedspreads and throws to protect our furniture otherwise everything went great

- I made an online reservation for a 26' van and large car trailer sufficient to carry a full-size pickup; a configuration I'd driven twice before in addition to many other U-Haul rentals over the years. - Upon arrival for the pickup, U-Haul had the wrong trailer (small auto hauler) that would not support my truck despite going through the fitment tool during the online registration, and had no other options. - From the moment I arrived customer service rep Jennifer was impatient, rude and defensive, and actually asserted that I must have rented the larger trailers from other companies. I had not. - I had to source the correct "Toy Hauler" trailer, drive an hour to Elizabeth City to get it, then return back to Pinnacle to hitch it to the rental van; a two hour delay. - Once hitched I had no idea I had to provide my own straps. All previous U-Haul trailers had built-in wheel chocks and webbing straps and are ready to go. I was not advised of this during the web reservation nor by any of the customer reps I encountered. - After realizing Jennifer had little product knowledge or customer service skills and little motivation to help solve the issue, I finally reaching Regional U-Haul manager, Ed. Ed was also surprised I didn't have full product information in advance of the equipment pick-up and was surprised I didn't somehow know about these limitations in advance, and offered no consolation; shopping for the right straps in a remote area brought another one hour delay. - The starting fuel quantity noted on the paperwork by Jennifer was incorrect to what was in the tank, 7/8 vs 5/8 (I have the time and date stamped pics). As per local rep Jennifer, regional manager Ed is to make the adjustment on the account which will be verified at drop off. - Local customer service rep Jennifer had very poor customer service, was defensive, uncooperative, quick to frustration and spoke very sternly and unprofessionally to me and offered very little in the way of problem solving the problem U-Haul created by renting me the wrong trailer to begin with. - To verify the trailer I was going expecting Jennifer offered to show the pics to me in her computer screen and to "Come on around here and look." Yet when I did she said suddenly, with a raised, sharp voice "You can't come back here! I'm the only one here!" Only to then point to the place I had been previously. - Regional manager Ed insisted there is only one size auto hauler available, only for the Elizabeth City rep at the second shop who had the toy hauler told me "Oh yeah we used to have three different sizes of Auto Hauler." - As a final insult, before we even got the right gear worked out U-Haul already started spamming me to carry other customer's trailer loads with the rental van even though the trailer for my pickup was already on the reservation. I never approved these messages.
