Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing about my recent U-Haul rental from the pickup location in Edgefield, North Augusta. Unfortunately, I was provided with one of the most unsafe tow dollies I have ever encountered. Although I performed an initial inspection, I felt rushed at the time and did not fully recognize the extent of the equipment’s condition. When I arrived home to load my vehicle, I discovered that the tire strap was tied in knots and would not ratchet properly. After struggling, I managed to free one side, but shortly after noticed that one of the ratchets was loose and ineffective. I had to contact U-Haul Roadside Assistance for support. While the service technician was excellent and eventually resolved the issue, the ratchet itself was clearly old, worn, and rusty. What should have been a 2.5-hour trip from Augusta, GA to Newnan, GA turned into a 5-hour drive because I had to stop approximately every 20 miles to re-tighten the tire straps to ensure my vehicle remained secure. This created a serious safety concern. Upon arrival, unloading the vehicle was equally difficult—it took over two hours to remove the strap due to the faulty equipment. In my 35 years of military service, I have dealt with many challenging situations, but this was one of the most frustrating and unsafe rental experiences I have ever encountered. This equipment should never have been approved for use on the highway, and U-Haul should have been aware of its condition. If I could rate this experience zero stars, I would. I expect this matter to be taken seriously and request appropriate action be taken to prevent this from happening to other customers. I would also appreciate a response regarding compensation for this unsafe and unacceptable experience.

Everything is wonderful
ROCIO KThe box portion of the truck smelled like cigarett smoke. Luckally my furniture did not smell like it but if it would have been in there any amount of time it would have possible made my furniture smell like cigarett smoke and would have been a hugh problem
William KHe's never there. We dropped the vehicle off Monday the 16th at 4pm. The truck wasn't processed until sometime in the afternoon Thursday March 19th.
