Started off ok. But I was apparently rented the incorrect and malfunctioning truck. The latch would not lock all the way so I could not secure it at all. A couple of occasions when I was stopped and told the door was opening and my stuff in the back almost fell out. I shared this and there was no apology of any sort.

AMY BI reserved a truck at the U-Haul location on San Leandro St from 6 pm to 6pm - 24 hours - to use for a free pet clinic event that my nonprofit was hosting. I always only rent for a 24 hour period so keep the cost down. I received a call from U-Haul that the truck was not going to be returned from the previous renter so they connected me with this location. I told my husband and at 5 pm he called me to say that this office closes at 5. He called the office to confirm that someone would be there and no one answered the phone. If we did not get this truck, we would be screwed so we quickly went there at 5:15 and Mike was waiting for us. I told him we reserved the truck for 6 pm but it looked like he closed at 5 so we came sooner. We returned the truck by 6 the next evening We were charged for 2 days because we picked up the truck 45 minutes early. I prefer dealing with U-Haul directly but was considering using this location since I thought he did us a favor by staying late and he is a dog lover but I was very disappointed when I saw the charge. Not what I call good customer service.
