I had a truck reserved for 10 am on Saturday morning. I arrived around 945 am. The office door was wide open and nobody inside. Another customer said he has been waiting for 3 hours with no help. I called the main U-Haul phone # and was told someone would call me. I received a call and was asked to verify my billing zip code. He told me the combination to the lock on the truck and where the keys were located. He never saw my DL or asked for my insurance, I signed nothing...I drove away. If this was a typical rental procedure for U-Haul then it was great. I just can't see this as typical with the office wide open and no one around.

Larissa TPickup up my truck and it was literally on E for gas, it was dirty in the cab, it was not swept out in the back, and I registered for "counter pickup" and nobody was there and I had to call in which he provided a code to dig through a box of keys to find the ones assigned to the truck. They do not inspect trucks at check in at all because nobody us there to receive it check them out! Absolutely ridiculous and I'll be calling corporate because being told "oh that's how the last person left it but the gas station is just 2 miles down the road" is 100% unacceptable!!
Carlye DNo one was present when I picked up the trailer. The entrance was locked and poor signage to the entrance of the suite. I loaded up the trailer myself after speaking to someone on a cell phone.
John SThe representative on August 13, switched my reservation due to my preferred location, not having my truck in stock. However, when she switched my reservation, she did not inform me that no representative would be on site, that it was only a self service location. The representative also removed the dolly I previously requestedand to my surprise there was no dolly in the truck. This location was much further away than I preferred when I called the number for this location, they tried to authorize my payment three separate times and their system could not process. It was a very frustrating process where I stayed at that location for an hour.
