I was quoted $20 for the rental and was charged $80 by the time all the fees were added. I would have chosen a different option had I know it was going to be so expensive.

I used a needle width of gas - the gauge went from just over 1/8 to 1/8 For this I was charged an unreasonable extra $50. I will be more likely to choose an alternative to uhaul next time

horrible customer service, dirty, scratched, graffitied truck, employees who were insanely slow and rude.

Make it clear what needs to happen for mobile/self-service. I had to send headshot 3 times before the person online told me the headshot needed to include proof of location. Thank you!

The young man who works at Stewart's Market and handles the U Haul rentals was efficient, professional, and very nice.

There should be saved, designated parking spots for the Uhaul return. Luckily we were able to find a spot after some time, but if not...would we have been charged for the mileage of driving around looking for a parking spot? Also, we were not able to leave the key in the drop box because we were not given a code at the end of the rental period. We were forced to give the key to the liquor store attendant. I understand you also need to photos of the person driving and the license, etc. But Uhaul should request the prep work done BEFORE the rental period begins. Having to wait for a live attendant to verify is very frustrating and slow. Wasting time during rental period.

There was no parking. I expected a lot of Uhauls or a place for customer parking. I also expected a fleet of uhauls so I could determine which truck would be the right size for me.

All was great - the parking situation was slightly confusing, in that there didn't seem to be established parking for the trucks.... pretty much street parking for returning the truck.... which seemed a little too informal... I returned the truck to the nearest available spot

The return process was not streamlined. Upon arrival, the business rep asked why I had not returned my van at 3 pm (my deadline was 5:30 and I was at the location at 3:30, so actually two hours early). Then, I asked what the return process was and he said I should check the mileage and gas myself and we were good to go. I took a pic of the mileage/gas and then asked a second time, "is this all we need to do?" before ordering my Lyft. He told me that he could generate a receipt but if I was good to go he could email me. At this point I called a Lyft to get back to my car. When my Lyft arrived, the rep starts adding tasks: he asked me to bring the blankets I rented inside. I had my Lyft waiting. I did bring the blankets, all pre-folded, in to the store for him. He asked me to re-fold the blankets and put them in a bag (??), which made no sense given the thin plastic bags the blankets came in were in the garbage at my house and he had never requested I keep them in the first place. At this point I said this is enough and my Lyft is waiting. The rep told me "this is a full-service business" and proceeded to charge me six dollars for a missing blanket that was not missing.

The uhaul was a little dirty on the interior. The representative should do the end walk through with the customer so that the customer isn't surprised by the final charges and to avoid disputes. Luckily there were none, but could have easily had discrepancies that are not easy to disprove.

I rented a 9 foot cargo van from the Sutter Branch today. I have been charged extra 9$ for gas. The gas readings are inaccurate. I have a picture with the mileage and the gas level reading. I filled up gas up until the point it was when I took the van. This is very unprofessional. I can send the picture proof. Kindly reimburse for the additional charges.

U-haul moved my reservation to a different location for equipment reasons and did not advise me of this change until after my scheduled equipment pickup. I wish the U-haul app had told me the requested equipment was not available at this location when I was trying to make the appointment on-line. I made the move using equipment different from what I had requested and it took a long time to retrieve my reservation from the U-haul system because of the reservation move by U-haul to a different rental location.

Hello, I'd like to follow up with my UHaul rental experience. Because there was no parking at the site (keep in mind this location is a San Francisco liquor deli market at the corner of an intersection, I was told by the deli owner to park alongside a curb where it said no parking. I took photos of where I had left the car and completed the rental process through the app. I called U-Haul to confirm if this was okay, that I had parked the car in an illegal parking area. The woman I had spoke to on the phone said it was okay and I was free to leave. The deli owner once again told me to move the cargo van and park it on top of the sidewalk pavement in front of an apartment garage. I did as he had asked, and I left the keys inside the van and locked it. I had told the deli owner that I was about to leave and he had told me that I was not supposed to leave the keys in the van. He called someone, which I assume to be UHaul, and told me that someone would be coming to move the van. I asked if I would be responsible for any charges that would occur for the illegally parked van and he said yes. I once again called UHaul customer service about this matter and told her what happened thus far and she said that I can't do much besides wait it out and see what will happen. This is what had happened, and I acknowledge that I had made the mistake of locking the keys in the van rather than leaving it with the deli owner. But I also would like to say that this is all miscommunication and confusion on both my end and also the deli owner. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions and concerns. My number is 18082538687 and my email is email@example.com. My UHaul contract number was 26630930. Thank you.

When we went to look at the gas gage we told the owner it was three quarters full and he said fine. We drove 12 miles and returned the tank with a gallon of gas for our trip. When the owner went to look, he said it didnt match the gas gage before... As the customer, we felt like we were taken advantage from and that Uhaul was overcharging for something they never made the effort to check for themselves. We will not be returning as customers, and will refer no one to use the rent a truck service.

I have been over charged - my contract says $1.89 per mile but I was charged $2.49 per mile. I called the store and they made me hold for 10 minutes whilst they talked to customers in the store about what wine she likes.

Renting the van from here was very convenient and easy and the service was clear and personable. A nice neighborhood spot to pick up a van or truck.

this is a franchise and they do not accept cash payment for U-Haul. That was an inconvenience for me. I was told by U'Haul that they would accept cash. The primary form of business is not U-Haul, but rather the regular customers who buy groceries, and as a result the U-Haul customer waits a long time to be served. Did not have a good experience at all. When returning he vehicle, finding a car park close by to the location was a challenge and wasted a lot of time.

I drove 12 miles, and put a gallon and a half of gas in... how is that possible? Also, I had to park the Uhaul in the city?? I thought it had a parking lot, the attendant told me to parallel park the large van into a tight spot....

The person in charge of u-haul pick ups at this market was incredibly slow and very difficult to work with. He had no ability to troubleshoot or help with problems, so when there was an issue with my reservation he couldn't help fix it. Instead he told me to call U-Haul directly, which I did, and ultimately it took over an hour to pick up the truck. Very poor experience overall.
