This wasn’t my original pickup location for my rental. I had received a phone call the day before stating that my truck at the original pickup location which was less than a mile away from the house we were moving was needing maintenance and I would need to pick up another truck about 7 miles from the house I was moving. This added an additional 15 miles to my cost and at $1.20 a mile it was $18 out of my pocket. To make matters worse I was charged an after hours processing fee of $20 and had the truck less than 24 hours. I originally had booked my rental to be picked up the morning of my move but because of that rental being under maintenance the new facility that I picked up the truck from suggested that I pick up the truck the night before my move and not to worry about the time. I picked up the truck Saturday evening around 4:45pm and brought it back Sunday at 3:15pm yet was still charged an after hours fee. These two fees cost me nearly $40 and when I’m helping someone move out of my pocket it matters. If there’s any way to compensate me for the extra charges I would appreciate it. I use U-Haul often and usually have better service.
