Google Maps had the location on the wrong side of I-40 in their directions. That's not really something you can fix but it was confusing trying to reach the location.

We left our car in the parking lot for a couple of hours and the passenger window got shot out. Also, we were charged for renting furniture pads when we did not.

Had trouble both with the padlock and with the ignition key. Both caused some delay and inconvenience, and it was a nightmare dealing with the help numbers, corporate, and roadside assistance numbers. Wasted an hour or more, truck rental time and paid help time, solving it. When the answering service finally gave me the manager's number at the rental location, he was able to solve the problem immediately. Have to reconsider using U-Haul in future because of poor corporate response to problems on road. Local guy great!!!!! Just had no way to get to him by phone.

The staff was not overly helpful in trying to secure the reservation in the first place. Upon returning the truck they claimed that to furniture pads had gone missing. We did not request those on our reservation nor were they in the truck when we pick them up. However they insisted on charging us for them. Beware and take detailed photos should you choose to rent from this location.

The One thing I would want improved, is the ease with which my long held contract was cancelled by a mistake on the computer. If I had not pursued the manager, John, at U-Haul on 6th and I40 in Albuquerque, with my contract in hand, I would have lost the whole agreement with U-Haul, the day I was to pick up, and the day before our plan to load everything.

The motorcycle trailer ramp needs to be replaced the wire mesh is badly bent and hard to roll things in and out.

The print out of the gas gauge said that it was 7/8 of a tank, and it actually was 3/4 of a tank. The guy that helped us didn’t double check before we took possession. I had to return after hours and no way to bring it to anyone’s attention. We filled it back up to 3/4 but the paperwork I signed was for 7/8.

i did the express check in online the day before pick up. On a Saturday morning, an obviously busy time there was only one clerk who was doing his best but the wait was over 20 minutes. Not the clerks fault, but possibly mismanagement of the location?

My only issue was that I had used the wrong payment which put a hold on my account, I wanted to switch that payment but was told that by the rep that it was ok but not told that my account for the amount would be put on hold till I returned the truck, in the future I learned a valuable lesson on making sure I had used the correct payment card, what I would like is that if this were to happen again that U-Haul would allow customers to switch the method of payment if they desire and hold be lifted immediately.

It was implied by the Web page when I reserved my vehicle that I would be allowed to just drop by and pick up my truck. I spent the extra time with this information to allow myself the convenience of not having to wait in line to pick up the vehicle. When I stopped by the facility there was a truck (exactly as I ordered) parked in the delivery lane and I thought all I would have to do is get my code, notify the staff that I was there and then get the keys and drive off in the truck. Not at all. I had to wait in line while 1 employee was working with the other 7 people in the line ahead of me. People that did not sign up for the instant pick up. After the 1 employee stopped ignoring me (only because he had to walk outside to give a customer a dolly) and I was able to ask him about the situation. He told me that they do not have that feature at "that dealership". He was rude and incompetent and I had to wait in line for over 30 minutes to get the very same truck that was in the delivery bay. I might add that I was not the only customer in the same predicament. Once I finally duplicated all of the paperwork that I had done when I made the reservation, I got the truck and left. I was gone a much shorter time than I anticipated and when I brought the truck back the same employee, who had no other customers to wait on, was there and very helpful. He completely changed his attitude but was not apologetic about the time when I picked up the truck. I am not at all happy with the experience and have and will be sure to share my experience with my friends and neighbors.
