My only comment is the U-Haul web site. Once you select the location you want and the equipment you want, you are then transferred to a page of the available equipment. This page is not sorted well, even though I selected the "by location" sort. The locations on the first page of results were all much farther away than the U-Haul that is less than a mile from my house. I almost didn't rent there because it was on the second page of results. The web site needs to be improved. Other than that, my experience was excellent.

I set up the truck online for a 24 hour rental, the rental said I could only use it that day only..6 hours because it was reserved for the next day. The truck stated mileage was 2 miles less than when I started using the truck without a full tank yet they charged me to fill it up full anyways. They charged me for a SAFE coverage when I declined it. Overall they basically stole money from me.

Improve the reservation process Online: I would enter the tow vehicle and towed vehicle, but the button to "see if it will work" stayed grayed out. Had to call in. First call center person told me I could get a tow dolly at Palatine 8AM. Half hour later I got a confirm at Rolling Meadows for Noon. Second call center person said Palatine was out of dollies and eventually found one at Arlington Heights. Never got a confirm email, but eventually got a confirm text saying available at Noon. Fortunately, it was there at 8AM or I would have had to rent somewhere else. Arlington Hts employee (Mgr?) very helpful and straightforward.

Very angry that you and/or IL I-Pass tollway think I didn't pay two tolls when I did and even have the email proving it. You all want to charge me $38.00 for a toll already paid!!!

I had a problem with picking up my Uhaul from the App and the over the phone customer service was very unhelpful. I had to wait until the next morning when the location was open to actually get my Uhaul truck. This ultimately affected the time frame of my move. Upon entering the Arlington Heights location when it opened Sunday morning only one employee was staffed and a line had already grown with 6 groups all waiting. The employee did work as fast as possible and did a good job at trying his best to get to everyone as quickly as possible. Uhaul should definitely staff more employees for peak moving times.

I was over charged for gas and tried correct the situation( dropping the truck off a day early) and basically told to go f**k myself.

Do not send out vehicles with faulty fuel gauges, poor suspension and ride comfort and especially TELL the customer if there is damage to the vehicle that may lead to rain getting into the cargo box. The vehicle I was rented should have been pulled from service for a complete checkup and evaluation as to its' fitness for service. Had I been alerted to the water issue I would not have accepted this truck especially as there were several other newer and better ones available on the lot. Fortunately I did not encounter any rain but it was definitely a strong possibility during my rental period. Mileage seemed excessive at over 131700 miles. Overall very disappointed and would most likely not rent again from U Haul with so many other choices available in my area.

I would to take a moment to commend this location's manager and his assistant. I am a local resident and this is my home U-Haul location. I rent a few times a year and each visit is efficient, professional, and excellent customer service. This last visit was especially good as it was a very busy day yet customer service was top-notch. My transaction was very simple. Reserve a truck for ONE WAY trip. No additional equipment, pads, dollies, etc. Since my reservation was for only a truck, I didn't expect any difficulty. It went as planned. Reserved a truck. Completed the necessary paperwork at the service desk. Drove the truck off the property. Easy and routine. Very capable representative. No complaints.

It’s not the location, it’s the company and it’s crappy customer service. 3 weeks after I ordered my one way; 2 days before moving day, I’m informed that my pick up location was moved from one 5 minutes away to one 35 minutes away. I had scheduled movers, scheduled everything, so we could have a smooth move, and make sure things were easy on our 1 year old. I called uhaul. The 9 circles of hell that is uhaul ‘customer service ‘ kept passing me along with lip service and a ‘tough shit’ attitude, until I was disconnected. Half hour before I got a Lyft to pick up my truck I received an email telling me my pick up location had been moved again. Now an hour and a half round trip to get my truck, because we do the work for uhaul. It’s at their convenience. I don’t care if that’s how it is; it’s a crappy practice. Honor your commitment! The man at my pick up location told me he was giving me an extra day for free. I get a bill today telling me I’ve been charged $40 for an extra day for having the truck 30 hours! You nickel and dime people on a very stressful day because the likelihood is, they’re too busy or thinly stretched to go through the hassle of calling and dealing with people who don’t give a shit. Every time I call , I’m put on hold for 10 minutes listening to some crap about how my call is important. Take the $40, and the extra cash for the fraction of a gallon I was under. Giving a truck at anything less than full, and demanding it be returned at that amount is shady. I hope Penske puts you out of business. You might make even more money if you trained your workers in customer service. Thanks so much for time.
