I received the van with over 5/8’s of a tank, but less than 3/4’s. I used the chart provided in the agreement on the refill amount of gas. It ended up taking the tank well over 3/4’s. So obviously I refilled to much. This is the problem with not using full tanks on all rentals. You definitely expect customers to pay if they don’t refill or get the tank gauge back to where it started. But there’s no recourse when a customer goes to far. Absolutely a win/lose situation for U-Haul vs customers. There must be a better way.

if all customers receive the level of service that I received, you are doing a great job. I was very happy with the service. Called the evening before to order the truck, it was ready for pick up next day at requested time, checking in was quick and courteous. When I returned it 5 hours later, the agent came out and verified that gas was replenished and the miles that were used. He told me the exact amount that would be charged to my card. Very easy and efficient process.

I only replied to this email to say I was very unhappy that I had to drive from the Mountain View location that the email stated and I had set up as the location to pick up the truck. I realize this may have been due to a customer being late returning a truck, but it really irritated me and cost me money, as I had to pay movers just to sit and wait for me to arrive with the truck. But the people at the Belmont location seemed nice.

This comment is for the U-Haul call center that is responsible for booking trucks. We were very disappointed with the lack of communication between the call center and the local U-Haul vendors. Moving is already overwhelming and stressful but to top it off, you call center kept changing our location and the availability of the truck we had originally requested. We must have had at least 7 calls with different members for your call service team. Each time confirming our pick up location and truck size then we would receive a call from a other member of the u-haul team telling us that our order was changed or location was moved. I even spoke to the regional manager in the SF office (first name starts with R) who tried to tell us that our location and truck was no longer available even though 3 members of your call service center had reached out to us at 3 different times to confirm our location and truck size. This regional manager then also said that we had agreed to switch our reservation from a truck to a van, which we did NOT approve or authorize. Overall we have a very negative experience with U-Haul during our move last weekend and you’re call service team needs to do a better job at communicating with the customer and the various pick-up locations.

There was broken glass and a strange black oil on the ground in the back of the truck. This ruined one of the things we put in the back.

The pick up location assigned to us for our 4 pm pick up was quite a stretch at traffic time. Our local U-Haul is only a couple of minutes from us but it took us almost an hour each way to make the pick up in San Carlos.

The only issue I have is the pick up location the original location was in Mountain View 30 minutes from our home it was changed at the last minute to Belmont 40 min away, We have a -Haul on White Oaks road and Camden 10 minutes away from our home. We were told we could not pick up a truck there and U-Haul could not deliver a truck to the closer location from my perspective poor customer service.

This manager used my name after I turned in the truck on March 7, 2018, and added over a hundred dollars to my final charge. I filled up the tank and I have two receipts for the gas for the morning of the 7th, and the gas station was less than a mile away. I did not use 176 miles. this is the first time in over 40 years that I have been ripped off by uhaul. I want my money back. the district supervisor never called me. the manger of belmont stole the contract when I turned in the truck. I did not get a receipt in my email for over a week.

The customer service rep who helped me with the “convienant” mobile check in was extremely unhelpful. It actually delayed me by 40 minutes and made me late for the reason why I got the truck. I was extremely unsatisified by my experience and the app. It was stressful, delaying and unnecessary. Thank goodness for the nice person who helped me at the actual store.
