The wait time on the phone to make the reservation was ridiculous. We were phoned the day before and given a pick up time. We arrived early to only wait well past our pick up time. Perhaps staffing more people would help.

Mediocre service when I picked up my truck yesterday morning (Sun, 5/6). There were three people working, but for some reason only one was checking out trucks, even though there was a line. When I first got to the counter, the employee asked my name, and when I answered, he immediately he said, "i knew you were going to say that!" He gave me no indication as to what he meant by that. Then, when we got to the payment, he said, "You just donated!" I had no idea what he was talking about. Eventually he explained that because I had hit the "Agree" button on the screen twice, I had donated $1 to some sort of environmental cleanup. Of course, there was no donation, and as far as I'm aware, Uhaul charges the $1 environmental fee on all reservations. Yet the employee repeated 2-3 times that I had just made a "donation," even though he had never asked me if I wanted to make any donation (and I see from my receipt that there was not, in fact, any donation). It also turned out that I didn't need to be inserting my card in the first place, since I was using the same payment method as on the original reservation. By the time we finished, the rep was talking about how he needed to get to lunch soon. He never did a visual inspection of the truck. He just waved me over to the corner of the lot where my truck was parked, between a couple of other trucks. (In fact, he only even walked outside so that he could make sure I'd parked my car in a correct spot. He seemed irritated that he even had to do that much.) I don't know whether it's Uhaul policy for an employee to drive the truck up front for customers; however, I'm pretty sure he was at least supposed to have walked around the truck to make note of scratches. It seemed very clear that he was in a big hurry and was going to do the least work possible. Lastly, I never received the furniture pads I had included in the reservation. Admittedly, I should have remembered them myself, but of course the reason to order in advance is so I don't have to remember everything on moving day, right? If the rep who checked me in had spent less of his energy on making unnecessary comments, perhaps he would have noticed the furniture pads on my invoice. Please refund me the $5 furniture pad charge, as I never received them. Thank you.

I can’t believe you charged an additional $39 for fuel, when we got the truck it had very little fuel in it and we only went a total of 12 miles and the fuel gage didn’t move. I will go with Penske next time
