Moving within New York City can be intimidating with extra traffic, little parking, and small spaces. I very much appreciated the thoroughness and competency of the reception and equipment staff in my interactions at the UHaul in the South Bronx. They were speedy -- and when I had questions over the phone during my move, answered all of them quickly. The 9ft van drove well -- and it was so helpful to have a review camera for backing into tight parking situations. It's great to have solidly resourced and staffed locations inside the city boroughs.

U-Haul should make sure they have trucks available at the location you reserved instead of telling you the day before that there are no trucks available and you have to use a different location.

My drivers side view mirror was cracked and make it difficult to view the surrounding traffic. There were plenty of vans to chose from so they couldve given me a better van.

Horrible experience overall: 1) Staff was extremely unprofessional. I had some questions that they didn’t want to answer, not helful with some concerns that I had, and they were constantly rude. 2) The pickup truck was cover in dirt. There were empty bottles inside, the dashboard had several stains. Bad smell. Very unpleasant. 3) I also rented a motorcycle trailer and the person who helped me with this reservation over the phone told me that it came with straps. When I got there, they told me that they do not provide straps so I needed to buy new ones. Somebody from U-Haul lied to me over the phone. As mentioned at the beginning, an horrible experience, super unprofessional and for sure I’ll never so businesses with U-Haul again.

Making sure the staff that does the paperwork for the rental have some knowledge about how the the equipment works. I was told I would have to call roadside assistance when my rental wouldn’t start. I actually only needed to step on the brake and rock the the steering wheel to unlock it. Then the van would start.

This was an excellent experience and everyone working at the Grand Concourse location was professional and helpful. The only thing I would suggest is making sure a customer isn’t able to reserve something online if it will not be available when they get there. This happened to us with a furniture dolly. The staff was apologetic and very helpful, though, and we will absolutely use this location in the future.

Your representative at the register tried to charge me $100+ to my rental saying I had travel over the limit mileage. If I had no prove and knew my mileage for the address I went too I would have been over charged. Make sure your cashiers don't try to scan people into paying more money than what they are supposed too.
