Mobile check-in through my phone was a mess. There are too many vans available at the location, so I couldn't find it. Finally found my number, did my inspection, then went inside to pick up keys and in the time I was inside, the van was given away to someone else. Luckily, there was a very helpful staff member who took control, got me a new van ASAP on on my way. Great employees at this location, not so great mobile experience.

I was very disappointed in my most recent experience with U-Haul. I called the site specific number to reserve a truck, as I have done many times in the past - and in many states as I have used U-Haul for most all of my moves over the years. I explained, as I often do, that I have a storage locker at the location, have used U-Haul many times and requested consideration in the per-mile charge I was quoted. I was told that it would "not be a problem" - feel free to pull the audio tape, and that nothing could be done over the phone, but to please bring it up again when I arrived at the store to get the vehicle. That made me feel great and that my continued patronage was recognized and appreciated. When I arrived at the store I asked for the consideration that was shown and promised me on the phone and I was met with an attitude from the associate as well as the manager that made me embarrassed for even asking. The mileage cost was going to be very low as it was only a local trip - but the feeling that it all left me with will truly have me consider using a different company the next time.

The ignition key did not work well. At one point I had to call roadside assistance. Until that's fixed, the vehicle I rented should not go out

The 4th Ave location did all they can to help me after the Richmond Ave location almost destroyed my family vacation by giving away the trailer I rented and reserved with a $50 deposit. After having them install a ball hitch on my truck for $285. When it was time to get the trailer they said they gave it away. Next year I will find a different rental company.

When we first arrived, it was unclear where we might be able to park our own car — was there a parking lot for us to use or did we have to look for nearby on-street parking? We settled for street parking, though I'm not 100% sure that I would have had to. Then when we arrived, it was unclear where the office was actually located! Of course we found our way, but the shop front wasn't obvious from outside. Thanks for asking!

Customer service is horrible. I had to wait for the key outside for 15 minutes and the gentleman who came to help me told me to go back in the office to get the key. When I went back to the office, the satff said the key is not inside and I have to go outside and wait. Finally I got the truck after wasting almost half an hour. Returning the truck also took almost half an hour. The staff does not care and they do not know what they are doing. They wrote wrong millage and gas on the contract and asked to pay more. When I pointed to thier mistakes, they started blaming each other.

On Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 9:30AM, I placed a self-service rental check out with U-Haul for a 9 foot truck from the 2800 White Plains Road location. Contract number 28680688. On Friday, August 4, 2017 at 10:09AM, I received a call from U-Haul stating that my pick up location was change from White Plains Rd to a location in New Rochelle, NY. I explained to the representative that the New Rochelle location was inconvenient. Therefore, I requested an alternate branch in the Bronx, which became Empire Capital Group located at 2453 Westchester Av, Bronx, NY 10461. The representative confirmed the 9 AM pick up, using the self-service rental check out. As scheduled I reached Empire Capital Group at 9 AM only to find out that this location does not participate in the self-service rental check out. I was forced to wait an hour until this location opened before I could retrieve my rental. To make matters worse, manager Baharul Islam (929) 223-4742 was late opening the store, which left an additional customer waiting. Once inside Mr. Islam serviced me. After searching the system he stated that I did not have a reservation with U-Haul. I explained to Mr. Islam that there had to be a mistake because I had an email with the reservation and confirmation number for this location. I asked Mr. Islam if he would like to see the email. He refused to view the email, stating if he did not see the reservation in his computer, then the reservation did not exist. I asked if we could call U-Haul and get the issue rectified. He became rude and abrasive and demanded that I go to the Hunts Point location at 1365 Bruckner Blvd, Bronx, NY 10459. Again, I asked Mr. Islam if we could call U-Haul. He became agitated and jumped out of his seat. He brushed by me and directed me to leave his store and go to Hunts Point or call U-Haul or my own. To avoid having to deal with me any further; Mr. Islam grab his belongings and drove off in his car. I stepped outside of the location and called the U-Haul 800-number. I reached a representative by the name of Tanisha Selby (718) 562-3800, who stated that somehow my reservation was canceled but could not confirm who cancelled the reservation. Tanisha stated that Empire Capital Group indeed had the truck that was registered to me. She created a new reservation and called the secretary inside of Empire Capital Group and explained that one of the trucks on location was for my rental that somehow had been cancelled. I went back inside and spoke with Mr. Islam's secretary. She took my information and charged my debit card for payment. Once the payment process was completed the secretary looked at the lot though the window and determined that the truck was not in the lot. Since the secretary was unable to find my truck she canceled out the order stating I needed to proceed to the Hunts Point location. I called Tanisha back and put her on speakerphone along with the secretary. Tanisha was shocked to learn that Empire Capital

Massive fleet of vehicles available. Got a very low milage van on short notice. Check out and in was quick. The only snag was that they forgot my moving blankets and I had to circle the block to pick them up.

The person that installed my trailer didn't do a complete install and and because of this my car almost flipped over I had to tie the trailer down myself I'm incredibly pissed off about it

We did not receive the furniture pads that we requested when we placed our order. Not a big deal. But, we were charged the $10 rental fee and over $83 for not returning them. That's BIG DEAL. I've been complaining and have been promised, since July 30, that the GM from this location would return my call to take care of this. I've been told that several messages have been sent to the GM as "Urgent" yet I've received no response. It is now Aug 9. That's a HUGE deal. I've rented dozens of U-Hauls over the years. Probably spent thousands of dollars. And they won't take care of a little problem like this? I called customer service again today, because no one ever answers at the location, and they said that they'd send another request for someone to call me. They asked me to wait another THREE DAYS for a return call. It's already been 9 days. How difficult is it for someone to return a call and fix this very minor issue? Someone needs to step up and do the right thing.

Not charge people for hidden fees and overages. A $7.15 charge for going over 5 miles is ridiculous. Employees treated me terribly and answered no questions. I will always recommend uhaul's competitors to friends and colleagues to avoid what I went through tonight

Everytime I turned off the engine, I had a hard time getting it to start. I would put the key into the ignition and it would not turn. It would take atleast 10 minutes of me turning the key back and forth and jiggling it to make it turn and start the truck.
