Once I was able to locate the door/ building I needed things went pretty well and the process was quick. However, the facility has indoor self storage and the door for trailer/truck rental is in a different building. the signage for the trailer/truck rental is not noticeable, but rental return signage is well displayed. We also had a bit of trouble with the credit card reader and the associate had to enter my card information by hand.

We had a truck rental and a UBox rental. Despite the online reservation indicating our pick up time, the entire process took way too long. The UBox was on a trailer packed in snow, so no one had checked it ahead of time to realize there was an inventory issue in the computer, which became a huge problem for the staff to figure out. After 90 minutes we finally left with the box. Returning it the next day for shipment we found the computer still to be a problem so they started a new contract which then changed the shipping date. I worried the whole time that the box would sit unprotected and be forgotten but in the end it arrived safely. I recommend UHaul improve the 800 call center service as wrong information was provided numerous times. I also believe the Burnsville location was understaffed with knowledgeable people.

Make sure the location you chose to pick up the trailer has a trailer. Had to go to a different location further away because they didn't have any even though I reserved one.

at pick up, they didn’t have the correct tow dolly for my car, confused by the fact my car wasn’t fitting on their dolly , they looked me up in the system to find out what kind of dolly I rented before. I told them “I rented a dolly last time I used uhaul “! Turns out, on paperwork, it says I rented a trailer that has the car completely off the ground & that’s not true. I had a dolly last time I rented w/them. So, that told me, I was over changed the last time I rented from uhaul because a trailer is more expensive because it has the vehicle completely off the ground & a dolly is just holding the front 2 wheels.So that’s upsetting to know. I was sent to another location to pick up a dolly that would fit my car & I get there & that location was closed. I had to wait . Then, this location tried to charged me for a dolly. I was confused because I already paid for everything at the 1st location & showed the paperwork to prove it. The rep couldn’t even explain why he was charging me again. He made a phone call that took forever . Once he got clarity, he put the dolly on my truck. I drove back to the 1st location to pick up my car & I was greeted by a very rude worker . This overall experience was horrible. I was there for a total of 3 hours. In my experience, I wasn’t charged correctly the last time I used uhaul . Even this time around, I caught them trying to add in hidden cost that I declined on when I was paying for it. . I wouldn’t use uhaul any more or recommend them. Make sure you check your receipts for accuracy.

What is the point of online self service if I still have to go inside, wait in a long line, etc because the online service, which took 20 minutes for them to review my license and call my daughter, still did not render an access code for the truck key. Frustrating and inefficient and overall just stupid to pretend that there is a self-service option.

Improve you computer systems. I have been renting from you for 30 years and your company has very frequent computer crashes and other slowdowns when I am checking in/out.

I reserved a cargo van online and completed the express checkout. At the uhaul location, it took 20 minutes and 4 people to figure out why my credit card couldn't be read even though i already submitted credit card information online. Then my signature couldn't be accepted by the checkout software used by the uhaul employee without 4 people trying to fix it. Overall it wasn't a very reassuring experience, though the chairs were extremely comfortable, the only thing going for the place. Much of this 20 minutes was trying to remove from my checkout the moving pads and dolly, which i didn't ask for with the online express checkout to begin with. Not so surprisingly, i was still charged the $10 for the pads and dolly. Had i known i was going to be charged regardless i wouldn't have strained my patience waiting for them to figure out their own software. Returning my equipment was very easy and that gentlemen was very appropriate and seemed to know what he was doing.
