To improve the company should have the truck that was scheduled for pick up at the location it was scheduled for. If that changes for one reason or another, I shouldn’t have to pay for the extra miles used.

My dissatisfaction is not with location of pick up, but with UHaul. I was very upset that my location had been changed from less than a mile away to over five miles away adding unnecessary stress and cost. Also, I needed a utility cart and there was not one available. In fact, no dolly was available. I reserved online to have a smoothe move close to my home with a dolly. I did not have a smoothe move. I've used UHaul several times in the past, but I will rethink my choice if I ever need a convenient way to move. Also, the pricing online quoted me closer to $50 for the move and as it turned out I paid over $85 for a simple local move. I am extremely upset. Debra Skain

The guy who we spoke when returning had a foul mouth in front of customers including woman and child. He also wanted to double charge us when we had paid in advance. The guys when we picked it up were pleasant, polite and extremely nice. They really helped and had amazing customer service.

Rented truck,car carrier,and at last minute needed a 6×12 enclosed trailor,,so they really stuck it to me on price for that..not happy on that issue ..

My reservation was confirmed thru text but the truck wasn’t there when I arrived. They did give me a truck, larger, but I was there for 30 minutes. It was just not a smooth transaction. Everyone was nice and accommodating I just wish it had been easier.

My initial pick up location was in SeaIsle City NJ Pearce Auto....I happened to just stop the day before to get boxes and he informed me he did not have a 10ft truck for me for the next day, Sunday. I called all local Uhaul until I found one that did since I could not get anyone on the phone to me at the 800 number. So in the future make sure the equipment is available before sending reservation confirmations.....its already a stressful time needing to rent a truck to move things anyway!

Change your policy. Previous renter was 40 minutes late returning the van we had reserved. We should have been upgraded at no extra charge to a 10 foot truck that was available but we were told that your policy wouldn't allow that and we would have to pay extra. We had no choice but to wait forty minutes.

Staff could be more active / enthusiastic. Seemed very disconnected and were not particularly helpful with my reservation issue. Wrong equipment- I had requested a 9' Cargo Van for a 1-way trip to move furniture from Cape May NJ to Philly. Despite getting a confirmation email that my equipment was booked and would be ready, when I got there, they said the only 9' van in stock was not available for 1-way rental. They said I could wait for a few hours to see if another return would come in (not an option - I had a deadline to get back to Philadelphia). They said the only thing they had avialable for 1-way was a 15' moving truck (MASSIVE truck compared to a cargo van). I reminded them that I had a confirmation email stating the van would be available - they said they didn't realize it was a 1-way rental (unfamiliar with the UHaul electronic system?) I had no way to get back to Philly (my ride had left) and no other option, and needed to move the furniture, so I took the truck. I asked about the price difference to see if they could waive the difference due to their error (they had a van, but it wan't available for 1-way). They said they would call their manager on his cell phone, who didn't respond. After a few minutes, they recommended I take the truck and "sort it out later with Uhaul". Bad idea, because UHaul is not being specifically forthcoming about the error or helpful re: my issue. I rented the 15' truck. Within minutes of pickup up the truck, I called U-Haul customer service 6 times, each time waiting on hold forever. Finally got through to a rep who said "sorry - now that you've signed the contract we can't adjust the price, you have to talk to customer service after you return the rental". She told me "they don't guarantee that the equipment you book is the equipment you get". I said I understand that, but if they don't guarantee service, price, equipment, or availability, then what does my "reservation" actually accomplish? The price difference, for what it's worth, is $19, or so I was told. Completely frustrating experience. Wanted a 9' van, reserved a 9' van, received confirmation for a 9' van, they HAD a 9' van, but somehow I ended up with a giant moving truck and am now on the hook for the price difference, $30 in excess tolls (trucks incur much higher tolls than cars), $45 in gasoline (this thing gets like 8mpg). And UHaul blames Riggins but won't correct the mistake, saying only the manager at that site can help. Absolutely unsatisfactory experience.

My contract stated that I could drop off the truck on Sunday which I did a few minutes after 10. The person behind the counter did not talk to me except to ask if I wanted a printed or emailed receipt. Trusting him I said email it. Without discussing it with me he charged me for an extra day and gas. I guess it was the reason he wouldn't look me in the eye. Unbelievably deceitful. I didn't know about the extra charges until I saw my emailed receipt. I am due a refund of $71.
