I called the Carol Stream location this morning because I noticed that my account had been double charged. I brought this concern to a man, I believe, is named Michael. He was talking down to me and acting like I was supposed to know why I was doubly charged. He accused me of extending my reservation 3 times and when he realized he was wrong he didn’t even off an apology. I asked him why I was charged both $92 and $48 and he said “what do you mean? $92 + $48 equals $140 and that’s what your total was” this came as a surprise because my estimate was $90. So I asked him why it was so expensive and then he continued to have an attitude and said “you drove 102 mile as $1.10 a mile, so that’s $120 plus your truck rental fee.” The entire he was rude and condescending. He was not trying to understand my situation especially when ALL I was looking for was an ANSWER. This guy should not have a job in customer service. I would like for a MANAGER from this location to reach out to me to further discuss this.

The cab of the uhaul smelled like pet urine, the location drop off instructions are not marked at all, instructions for key drop off did not seem secure. They did not have all the supplies I ordered and the bill was not adjust that I am aware of. Dropping off after hours at night the location did not seem safe for your average person. The people were very nice when picking up. Helpful but not a sense of ownership since they aren’t uhaul. Products uhaul sells they did not have and there things were overpriced significantly, I will secure a true uhaul location next time I have had good experiences in the past.

My contract required me to re-fill the gas tank when I returned the truck. I drove the truck less than 30 miles. Before returning the truck I added 2 gallons of gas but the gas gauge barely moved. When I returned the staff said that I needed to add more gas because the gauge was not back to where it was when I rented the truck. Even though I showed them the gas receipt I was told that I needed to add more gas or would be charged 9 dollars a gallon for additional gas. So I left and added 1 more gallon of gas. The gauge then moved more with the one gallon than with the previous 2 gallons. It also meant that I incurred a charge for the mileage to and from the gas station for the 1 gallon of gas. This was a bit frustrating at the end of a tiring day of moving. Please check the functionality of gauges or allow for verification using a receipt. On a positive note Michael was pleasant to deal with.

The mobile process is a bit lengthy. It took us 30 minutes. Maybe due to our inexperience but there was a lot of lag time in between sending photos and waiting for approval

My rental experience went well until I returned the vehicle and was over charged by $100.40 for mileage, which was included on my confirmation. My reservation clearly stated that I was allowed 634 miles as I was quoted when entering the details of my move on your website. I paid in full upfront. Somewhere along the line my the mileage allowance was lowered to 306 in your system, which is not what I was quoted. I replied to your e-mail asking for feedback about my experience and submitted an inquiry on your website. There's been no attempt to acknowledge or contact me which leads me to believe that I've been ripped off and no one is willing to do anything about it. I can't recommend anyone do business with a company like yours who engages in unethical business practices.

I had to change my drop-off place because the place I had agreed to drop off my truck was closed at 2pm on a weekday (why??) with no dropbox for keys (again, why??). It was such an absolute dump that I didn't want to even leave the truck there and come back the next day with the keys. The U-Stor-It I ended up dropping off at was wonderful; the people there were really helpful! A note on trying to get hold of U-Haul on the phone: I was on hold for more than half an hour when calling the 800 number. I ended up calling the local U-Haul number in the state my trip originated, got through in just a few minutes, and they were able to change my drop-off location for me. U-Haul has GOT to have better phone service!

I have a couple of comments. I was going to pick up my U-Haul at 8:30 on July 31st and return at 5:00 PM on August 1. I tried to change that to a pick up at 5:00 PM on July 30 and return on 5:00 PM on August 1. I called in and the person on the phone told me that it would cost me an extra $40. That person sent me to scheduling and I ended up with NY Scheduling. She was very incompetent.

I have been renting Uhaul truck for nearly 25 years now and this was the first time that I thought I was going to crash and or die! The truck is very unstable and should be checked before being rented again. My thinking was that "they'd never let a truck go out that is dangerous, there's too much liability for them to have that, they have to have a check system before and after each rental!" Well, my truck had a mind of it's own. There seems to be an axle or tire rod loose on the truck. It should and swerved as soon as I got on the highway. The truck would veer off to the right and at one point it jolted into the next lane with out me turning into that lane. This was a very scary experience. Yes, I should've taken it back, but I rationalized thinking that they have to know about this and wouldn't let the truck go out if it were bad. I would highly suggest that someone OTHER than the person that allowed it to get rented to me, do a thorough check. Someone is going to get hurt if not. NOT HAPPY THIS TIME!!!

I explained to the person working that the location I picked up the truck they didn’t have a full tank of gas in the truck and I took a picture to prove that and they still charged me for gas even though I spent money and put even more gas into the truck that I got it with

I was charged double from what my rental agreement says, I picked up the truck at 4:00 pm (states 6 hour rental on receipt) and dropped it off at 8:44 pm. You guys charged for two days rental. I am waiting for a response from an email I sent to (856003_AFM@uhaul.com) with a picture of the mileage I took when I dropped it off (there is a time and day stamp on it as proof)
