We called the 800# in order to adjust out pickup time from 6am to 8:30am and were left with the impression that it was taken care of by the 800# (that it wasn't an issue and they made the change). Got there at 8:00 - 8:30am and there was no way to pick up the truck through the app even though we had been assured that we could do that so we had to wait for the place to open. Come to find out that our reservation had no-showed and only the time change had been entered into the comments not reflected in the reservation itself. Only by the grace of God was the vehicle still there and not spoken for by someone else. I work in the hotel industry making reservations and could not imagine trying to run a hotel with such incompetence. I mean you're moving, you need a truck and can't be told, "well sorry, your reservation has no-showed and now the equipment is someone else's..." Also don't schedule reservations so close to one another as delays happen and we were an hour late in getting the truck back (not just because we were late but because we were stuck on the other side of town dealing with a major traffic accident on LBJ (highway 635). We had scheduled the truck until 4pm and when we called to advise we were told too bad, the truck is spoken for by another reservation and much be returned by 4pm. I'd hate to think we inconvenienced someone else because of traffic on LBJ. Buy out the closed car wash next door to your place on Country Club lane in Carrollton. You have absolutely no parking and are forced to park on the street which quickly fills up. Then where are you supposed to park??? Your app used to return a vehicle is to cumbersome to use, find another method. About gave up after five tries, but kept at it because you charge something like a twenty-dollar fee to have an agent process the return.

The staff were some of the nicest people around, and the trucks (we rented a van for one day and a 10’ truck the next day) were emasculate. I guess a drew the long straw because the van was brand new.

Disable ability to rent vans overnight. Did not know you could not rent vans overnight until the day before the rental when the local branch called to tell me. Good thing I was able to use a truck, otherwise this review would have been much different.

Deona Drees (Service Attendant) was excellent In assisting us in terms of the right size truck and right size storage dimensions for our household furnishings. Not only was she great assisting us, we observed Deona has great customer service skills with other customers whom she served on in our present. We were pleasantly please and joyful with her skill and knowledge of U-Haul products. Upon our return to retrieve our items in storage, hoping she present to assist us and thank her again for all of the help she provided. U-Haul word to the wise, she’s an excellent employee and knowledgeable. Thank you U-Haul for your service.

Emily did a great job. Even with the few obstacles we faced. In my opinion, your policies should be company wide, and not per site. She asked for two contact numbers, then had to call and see if they answered. If that is some sort of security feature, it should be streamlined...not just made up! Also, as a frequent user of your trucks...I expect them to be in working condition. The handling of this truck was terrible. It actually drove better with a full load. The steering wheel was all over the place making it very difficult to steer in tight places. Lastly, your computer equipment must be functional at all times. I was delayed for quite some time because the payment machine wouldn't work. Unacceptable...but what could I do ...when I'm moving that morning. She almost had to shut the whole transaction down, but luckily she didn't. Emily made the experience a good one, because otherwise this would be a very different review.

I would not recommend U-Haul at this time due to the damage doe to my phone because of unmarked hazards. Door pocket that looked like a place to put my phone in order to be "hands free" while driving, destroyed my phone. I will be contacting corporate regarding this matter during the business week. I am very unhappy that the manager stated to the employee "not our responsibility". Absolutely it is U-Hauls responsibility to clearly mark hazards.
