I reserved my truck at 505 N Ashland location, which was closer and in an area that I felt safe. Then a few days before my pick up, they changed to the 4022 W. 5th location. It was a boarded up building in a very dangerous part of town, that was very unsafe. I am a single woman and feared for my life, they were drug deals happening on the corner and some very shading people. This was unacceptable and am highly upset.

This particular franchise was in a vacant lot in a rough part of town. The franchise needs to at least put up a covering and some security cameras to make us feel safer.
sheldon bCAUTION: DO NOT USE THIS DROP OFF. This drop off is a boarded up, abandoned building in a terrible neighborhood. Do not go, find another drop off and read reviews first. Why would U haul direct customers to this dangerous neighborhood? No one answers phone # listed. Addicts, prostitutes and homeless loitering in front of this abandoned building, some pulling at door handles of dropped off trucks to see if open. Makes no sense U-Haul! Ridiculous!
patrick iFirst, I would never recommend this location to anyone. Lock boxes are on an abandoned building. The lot next door has tents with homeless people. The house in front is boarded up. In top of that U-Haul truck cab smelled of marijuana and the bed smelled of urine. Never again!
Michael VThere was no one available at this location and the office was boarded up. This was contrary to the Open Office hours indicated on the website. Luckily there was a drop box to drop off the keys. The location seems to be in a very run down neighborhood. It would not be safe to drop off here after dark due to poor street lighting and neglected sidewalks. While I was completing the self drop off a gentleman drove up in a car and asked me if I would like him to complete the drop off. He was not wearing any UHaul Identification so I did not entertain his request. If he truly was an employee he should have showed his ID.
