No complaints, everything went great!
I have used this location on numerous occasions with no problems, but I will just talk about my last rental. Very knowledgeable and friendly employees. The reservation was handled efficiently and expertly on the phone. No pressure to rent equipment I didn’t need, and she asked the right questions to ensure I didn’t forget anything. The day of pick-up went smooth. Employee went through the contract, he helped me hook up trailer and ensured I had everything I needed. I was on my way in 15-20 minutes. Trailer return was quick and easy. I had the option of dropping it off after hours, but I was able to return it during business hours. Within 10 minutes, we had the trailer disconnected and inspected. Excellent customer service.

Earlier in the day we call to see if they had 5 X 8 trailers available and we were told yes that they had 5. We asked if we could reserve one and were told that we didn't need to, because there were so many. When we arrived, we were told that all the 5 X 8 trailers were reserved and that the only one available was a 6 X 12. We were not very happy that we were told one thing on the phone and when we arrived it was something different. It seems like a bait and switch. The sales person on duty was very helpful, however the larger trailer was way more than we needed.

Very poor customer service. Even tried to call. I'm not sure what uhual place I got but they would not answer questions,were rude, and hung up on my call. Overall haul needs to communicate with its customers much better.

I was originally set to pick up from Glens Garage in Portales, NM. I called them on the Thursday to confirm my reservation, and they confirmed that they would be open and I could pick up the trailer at 4:30 and that I couldn’t pick it up any earlier because someone else had it till 3:30. I showed up to the location at 4:15 and no one was there, i tried calling their office multiple time and no one answered. Finally I contacted someone in Denver Colorado. She also tried calling them as well as the regional office. I understand it’s close to Christmas but they confirmed they would be open on Friday and they had a sign on their door that said they would be open till 5. The lady in Denver as able to transfer my reservation to Clovis, but because of the situation I had to drive 45 minutes to an hour out of my way.

This is the best, most friendly, and most professional Uhaul location I've ever been to. They didn't try to over charge me. They gave me realistic expectations of charges, and they even ended up charges less than I was quoted because I used less miles. The man who owns this location is amazing, and that comes through with the equipment and employees. Thank You!

Guy that runs it is an *******. Uhaul screwed up my time returning the truck and he's getting frustrated with the customer. Then I try to help him out and he tells me a time that will still work for him on the return (now I'm helping him out) says it will only be one extra day charge. Turns out it was two, if your quoting people look at their reservation and give an accurate cost. If 2 hrs was going to result in an extra day I would of got it back earlier. Also when I call uhaul with a problem don't refer me back to the guy I'm disagreeing with obviously he will side with himself.

Don't promise them a discount then charge them the discount after they return the item. We were given a $10 discount due to the trailer not being ready on the day we reserved it. After we returned it, we were charged an additional $10 thus eliminating the discount we were promised.

The man who helped me check in and out was awesome. He was by himself when I was checking back in and helped everyone and even a person on the phone with calmness and politeness. The truck was hard to start and struggled to shift into another gear, but that was discussed with the man. Overall good experience and will be back in a few weeks for the final move.

My original contract was for a U-Box to be delivered to me. Several days prior to the box delivery, I stopped in to verify the scheduled date (Sep 6) and location (1500 Mitchell) for the U-Box delivery. The employee told that they do not deliver the boxes to customers because they do not have enough business for them. I was told I would need to pick up and return the box and trailer for transport. I was unhappy about the change but agreed to it. I returned to U-Haul 1 day (Sep 5) prior to picking up the U-Box to ensure they had the box and was told (by the General Manager, Daniel McBride) that he was unable to pick up the U-Box and it would be an additional 2 days before he could drive the 200 plus miles to get it because he had no employees available to run the store while he was away. He said he would have it available for pick up in 3 days (Sep 8); the day I needed to be at my home in Las Vegas. Mr McBride said he had a truck I could rent and pick up the next day. This required me to rent a trailer for the vehicle I was driving home. Mr McBride said I could return for the trailer to be hitched to the truck and his employee would clean the truck for our trip. We picked up the truck on Sep 6 and then the trailer on Sep 7. Mr McBride stated they would clean the truck when we return for the trailer. The employee was unable to do that because of other customers in the store. Overall, there were no problems with the performance of the truck or the trailer. However, the problems with my reservation was additional stress on top of other stressors I was having to deal with during this trip. Customers need to be assured their scheduled rentals through U-Haul's 800 number or website will be honored by the store of origination. One more point regarding the customer rep (Dawn) when I called the 800 number...I was discussing the size of the U-Haul boxes and she told me that there was no extra charge whether I scheduled 1 or 6 boxes. I asked about that when I was scheduling the truck and was told that i would be charged for each box I had transported. I don't know which story was right but had I ordered and received more than 1 box and then charged $940 for each box after being told I wouldn't be charged for more than 1 box, I would have been furious. I hope Dawn misinformed me and that this is not a way to trap customers into paying more money for rentals. I have used U-Haul many times over many years and never experienced the problems I had this time but this was my first experience with a long distance rental.
