Guy that runs it is an *******. Uhaul screwed up my time returning the truck and he's getting frustrated with the customer. Then I try to help him out and he tells me a time that will still work for him on the return (now I'm helping him out) says it will only be one extra day charge. Turns out it was two, if your quoting people look at their reservation and give an accurate cost. If 2 hrs was going to result in an extra day I would of got it back earlier. Also when I call uhaul with a problem don't refer me back to the guy I'm disagreeing with obviously he will side with himself.

Don't promise them a discount then charge them the discount after they return the item. We were given a $10 discount due to the trailer not being ready on the day we reserved it. After we returned it, we were charged an additional $10 thus eliminating the discount we were promised.

The man who helped me check in and out was awesome. He was by himself when I was checking back in and helped everyone and even a person on the phone with calmness and politeness. The truck was hard to start and struggled to shift into another gear, but that was discussed with the man. Overall good experience and will be back in a few weeks for the final move.

My original contract was for a U-Box to be delivered to me. Several days prior to the box delivery, I stopped in to verify the scheduled date (Sep 6) and location (1500 Mitchell) for the U-Box delivery. The employee told that they do not deliver the boxes to customers because they do not have enough business for them. I was told I would need to pick up and return the box and trailer for transport. I was unhappy about the change but agreed to it. I returned to U-Haul 1 day (Sep 5) prior to picking up the U-Box to ensure they had the box and was told (by the General Manager, Daniel McBride) that he was unable to pick up the U-Box and it would be an additional 2 days before he could drive the 200 plus miles to get it because he had no employees available to run the store while he was away. He said he would have it available for pick up in 3 days (Sep 8); the day I needed to be at my home in Las Vegas. Mr McBride said he had a truck I could rent and pick up the next day. This required me to rent a trailer for the vehicle I was driving home. Mr McBride said I could return for the trailer to be hitched to the truck and his employee would clean the truck for our trip. We picked up the truck on Sep 6 and then the trailer on Sep 7. Mr McBride stated they would clean the truck when we return for the trailer. The employee was unable to do that because of other customers in the store. Overall, there were no problems with the performance of the truck or the trailer. However, the problems with my reservation was additional stress on top of other stressors I was having to deal with during this trip. Customers need to be assured their scheduled rentals through U-Haul's 800 number or website will be honored by the store of origination. One more point regarding the customer rep (Dawn) when I called the 800 number...I was discussing the size of the U-Haul boxes and she told me that there was no extra charge whether I scheduled 1 or 6 boxes. I asked about that when I was scheduling the truck and was told that i would be charged for each box I had transported. I don't know which story was right but had I ordered and received more than 1 box and then charged $940 for each box after being told I wouldn't be charged for more than 1 box, I would have been furious. I hope Dawn misinformed me and that this is not a way to trap customers into paying more money for rentals. I have used U-Haul many times over many years and never experienced the problems I had this time but this was my first experience with a long distance rental.

Justin was great he has great customer service. He was alone when I picked up the truck and very busy... the system was acting up and Justin had to call on the phone for help. The reason I didn't rate excellent is for this. It put me 45 min behind on my trip and that was significant. Uhaul needs a better updated computer system. He had to run it as a walk in and even that didn't work right away. Need more help also there were 6 people in line behind me she system went down. I give Justin the highest marks

I explained that the inside of the cargo van had not been properly cleaned prior to us receiving it, and that we were returning it completely cleaned. Therefore the manager on duty gave us a $30 credit to our bill which we were very grateful for.



The pick-up location was fine. The problem was with U-Haul in general. Setting up the reservation was the worst customer service experience ever in that because of the geographical location of U-Haul in Clovis NM, there was a straight up refusal of any kind to price-match. The monopoly that U-Haul has in the area is absurd. AND they don't offer military discounts. What a disgrace and a huge slap in the face. U-Haul has completely taken advantage of us and I'm sure whoever reads this message will not give one single care. I guarantee that if/when I get out of the military, I'll be setting up a Penske/Budget in Clovis and STICK IT to U-Haul.

The Ubox container and truck weren't ready at the scheduled pickup time.



For starters when a customer reserves a certain size u-haul 2 weeks in advance, have the requested piece of equipment available! Also have some professionalism when dealing with customers. Let people know in advance about the height requirements to haul a trailer. Lastly when you lack of proper equipment damages a vehicle, have the decency to fix the customers property. I payed for the insurance. I was told to F-off by one of your employees because I blew out a tire and bent the leafspring on my pickup because you did not provide me with the size trailer I requested. After reserving it 2 weeks in advance. I will never use u-haul again.

The Manager was very professional but could he be less stern with customers; lets not forget the smile :). If customers knew what he knew, they would be behind the counter doing his job. He had attitude and wouldn't let you finish your sentences. Whether frustration with the job or home life, they should really practice deep breathing and not bring that to the work place.

The windshield wipers needed to be replaced and there was no windshield wipers fluid in it. The compartment of the truck leaked and got our nice pillow top mattress wet and stained it!! The extra insurance we purchased apparently didn't cover any contents that got damaged from the leaky vehicle. Not happy about that!! The rep said Uhaul has "water resistant cabs, not water proof"! So now our nice, white pillow top mattress has a yellow stain all down one side. Unacceptable.



The clerk was friendly and jovial to the guy in front of me but as soon as I stepped up to the counter his whole attitude and demeanor changed. He didn't say hi, didn't make eye contact, was rude, and responses were short and included rolling of the eyes etc. There was no walk through of the truck, etc. Poor customer service overall. To make it worse I scheduled my uhaul 3 weeks in advance only to be told 2 days before that they were booked on that weekend and they're not computer programmers so they aren't sure why the computer let me schedule for that weekend. Also they left a voicemail and changed my pick up date WITHOUT talking to me or confirming that it was okay. When I called there was no remorse of any type other than a response saying, "We don't have any trucks nothing bigger, nothing smaller so we just can't help you." The following evening, after I had made arrangements to just go with the date they chose for me, they called saying we have a truck for you on your original pick up date and time. Sorry for the emotional distress good luck to ya! Ummm customer service is not their number 1 priority. I asked the lady if she could have a truck from close by dropped off or even if I could go pick it up myself nd all she could say is, " You can call them and make arrangement for a roundtrip pick up, tell them your situation and hope they can help you but I cant see their inventory so I cant help you." Last time I checked I didnt work for uhaul and as a customer I should not have to come out of pocket or make other arrangements because your system screwed up. Another thing that sucked was that this conversation was coming from the Albuquerque customer service folks so not only did I get poor service in the store but also from them as well. I will never use uhaul again. As if moving isn't stressful enough... smh they truly need to work on their customer service. As much as the uhaul cost, they should do better! Ridiculous!

Had reserved trailer for pick up at 8 am. UHAUL rep called the afternoon before informing me I could not pick it up until 10 am. We had a schedule to keep and unfortunately this put us 2 hours past. Rep said that was the best they could do and if I didn't like it, I could cancel. Well, how could I cancel and find something else on a Sunday afternoon? I had spoke to someone 72 hours prior and they said they would have trailer ready. To top it off, I had to travel to another town to get the trailer.
