All Star Rental is a criminal organization. They are con-men and pimps, and will try to get extra funds from you and hope you don't notice. They will attempt to charge you for "extras" at pick-up, and will only "catch it" if you point it out before you have the hold amount charged to your card. Then, once the rental is over, they will again attempt to charge for an extra and undisclosed amount. If you notice this at at vehicle return, hoping to close the ticket out, and bring it to their attention and ask for a resolution, they will play the denial and liar card with you, as though they are unaware of what is going on. Then they will attack you personally for questioning what they're doing. If you refuse to accept the undisclosed charges, they will claim that you will owe extra money, not to them, but to the U-haul Corporation, and will threaten you for payment. You will then get the follow-up email with receipt from U-haul.com, and it will strangely have the extra charges for All Star omitted, but will then have a bill statement attached, claiming it is payment directly to U-haul. Case-in-point: I had made the reservation on the U-haul site, and it stated a $22.15 + mileage estimate charge due at pick-up. When I arrived and waited for them to get their affairs in order at the counter, the dude (no name given) hands me a print-out with $60+ to be held on bank card. The statement also showed a dolly and pads charge, which I did not order. When I pointed this out, he acted stupid and pretended to not be aware. I then showed him the paper, as he stuttered and finally claimed it "must have been a mistake". He printed a new form with a $55.28 hold. I asked him why this was still substantially higher than what my reservation stated. He claimed it was just a rough estimate and "we would get it all figured out at return". Well, I was in a hurry and needed to get my business taken care of. During my move that day, I continued to have a nagging suspicion as though something wasn't right. Sure enough, after I did my own calculations, it was clear that I was still being billed an extra $10, which was nowhere disclosed anywhere on the statement. So, rather than fighting with them further and needing to get my project finished, I decided to add more mileage on the van to compensate for the extra, non-disclosed charges. When I returned the vehicle the next morning, right on the mark at 24 hours total and mileage equal to their charges, I attempted to ask them once again to disclose to me what this hidden fee was for and why they weren't up-front. Two more idiots (again, no names given) different from the day before, continued with the denial and would not explain the bill further to me. I did not yell at them or even curse, and walked to the door and told them I would report it to the BBB. The hippy looking character who claimed to be the "assistant manager" told me to "go and have a real shitty day" and they didn't care what I thought or planned to do. Imagine: if you steal $5 or $10 or $20 from each customer, planning that they will not catch the "error", then how much money have you embezzled for that day, month and year? This company should be put out of business. I am making plans to report them further.
