The lead manager lied to me during my whole interaction at this store location at 8400 Two Notch Road. I erroneously booked a 17 ft van at a downtown Columbia store (#87836471) 6 miles from this location and I would rather rent here which is closer to my home. When I told him I made the reservation for a Two Notch store, he told me that his location didn't have a Two Notch address because he was on a frontal road. This later turned out to be one lie. I asked for a 3-4 hour rental. He told me all his trucks were reserved and that I had to go to the store with my reservation. He told me that there were other U-Haul locations along Two Notch and to call the local Columbia corporate U-Haul number (803-791-9714). Upon calling the number, they rented me a 17 ft van (#87847457) from the same store (8400 Two Notch). So he lied to me about having trucks to rent so as to force me to go to my original reservation. So I ended up back at 8400 Two Notch after driving up and down Two Notch road since he said his address was not Two Notch. Upon presenting the reservation number, I was able to rent the van. Extremely poor service and no excuse for lying to customers! So I will never rent from this location again!

The only thing was that I had problem with storing the things of my home since they did not receive it and I had to go to different places to be able to find one. I had to leave it within an hour of the place I preferred

I do not know the young man's name that checked me in, but he was probably in his late 20s and he had been working under a Cadillac all day, but I have to say he was exceptional with his personnel skills and his helpfulness

I am a repeat customer to this location. Everything went well until I returned the vehicle. As no customers were there, I stopped at my POV to remove 2 bags quickly to avoid carrying them across the parking lot. When I have do so, 2 inattentive and slacking young men appear in the lot. One proceeds to tell me how I must move my car to visitor parking as I'm in the wrong place. I restrained my phrasing to advise that I was dropping the vehicle off, not picking it up. I then proceeded to turn the vehicle in and between the 2, I was asked 6 times if I had any trouble with the vehicle. They proceeded to inspect the vehicle before I had cleared it good (kind of made me feel like they thought I had stole the engine). Then, the second young man kept insisting that I ran over my mileage because I traveled 533 miles. When I told him I was allotted 600 miles and therefore had come under the quoted mileage, he became confused and did not have any answers for the discrepancy. Finally he had me retrieve my paperwork to "prove" what I was saying to be true. So, across the lot I go and get the documents, showing him that 500 + 100 make 600 miles. I further advised that the young man that took my reservation and the manager when I picked the UHaul up both had quoted 600 miles. We proceeded inside so that he could be further confused by reading the numbers on my paperwork and on the computer. Finally a older gentleman came to the counter and was making polite conversation when he saw that I was having an issue. He proceeded to tell me that I would only have had 600 miles allotted if I had the vehicle for a week (first I'm hearing of this!). I explained to him that I was quoted 600 miles and there was never any discussion beyond the one day rental. He then had the confused young man adjust the rental fees by $10+. I advised that the weekly crew and the weekend crew had different explanations of mileage and fees. Pissed for being in a situation where I felt harassed, I finally left. This should have been a simple procedure. I have never felt so aggravated when returning a UHaul; and I rent ALOT of UHauls. I did not like the approach of the young man that wanted me to move my car, the bumbling over the vehicle inspection before I have cleared the vehicle, or the confusion over mileage. The return of the vehicle made the rental experience horrible. I rent too many UHauls to be treated this way; at least I had up until this point. When I am returning a moving vehicle, have the damn courtesy to know that I am already tired from moving something and don't need young bumbling idiots being rude to me.

I'm bit surprised to know, there is no cruise control on Uhaul vehicles. This is big issue for long drive and I'm end up having back pain after driving 500 miles due to missing cruise control. This some thing has to think from long journey point of view. I never take this risk

I was not informed of how to operated the car transport to allow me entry and exit of the vehicle. I remained worried about how I would meet my deadline (for the military) and be able to download my vehicle at my destination. It wasn't until I arrived in LA, CA that another service member informed on how to operated the trailer that I could stop being concerned. I was provided the customer service number and a young lady was very helpful and wonderful.

This has nothing to do with the location I picked up at. Uhauls web site allows you sign up for express pick up. However it is very unclear how to use it. The owner helped me and got me on my way quickly. Very nice facility and friendly staff.

The manager there, I believe his name was Christopher, was very helpful. I was stressed and short on time, but he was upbeat and positive. He helped me book a Uhaul and made my overall experience there better. I will definitely recommend this place in the future.
