I had a miserable experience - unimaginably frustrating. Off hour pickups require two voice calls to personal references, contacting my employer, A PHOTO OF MY LEASE AGREEMENT.. Of course none of this was explained beforehand when I elected the pickup time. I ended up just waiting until the agency opened to finish verification because nothing worked. License wouldn't scan and couldn't arrange the phone verification with my references because frankly it was early morning and I wasn't anticipating any of this. I thought I'd be able to use my phone and ID and bank or whatever to verify my identity on my own, but its not doable that way. People dont usually answer strange phone numbers they aren't expecting early in the morning. My employer wasn't open yet so I couldn't use them to verify. I didn't bring my lease agreement because who TF travels around with that? There was no parking where I would pick up the truck so I had to park in a distant public lot and walk to the truck. Truck was on a different site than the office so no one could help me in person until I walked to the office. Truck location was listed as the name of the office, not the location of the truck so it wasn't easy to find. (Completely different name for the pickup location). Mileage had to be estimated and paid up front - no obvious explanation that this was an estimate. Underestimating mileage is always the right decision - agent told me I wouldn't get a refund if I overestimated mileage, but I would be charged normally if I used more miles than I anticipated. You're asked to estimate how many hours you're gonna use the truck, but you pay for 24 hours minimum - this was not obvious to me and 24 should have been the minimum selectable time table if this is the case. Obfuscated details, disingenuous tactics and bad tech came together to make me forget about using uhaul in the future. Overall just a terrible, deeply frustrating experience. Just use Penske, or anyone else. Save yourself the headache. Sure, the truck was fine. The move itself was easy. But dealing with you guys is like pulling teeth. 10x harder than it needed to be. 0/10, will not try again. Crazy that a company this big is so clunky and difficult to work with. $115 and a lot of stress to move 25 miles, one trip - you decide if it's worth it.

DEBRA AHonestly it was pretty simple an easy to find the location and access the key. So no complaints on this end, thank you
Floyd LThis rental was the worst of worst to rent from this storage unit place. The uhaul was the only one available the check engine was on as well and I could not even see out the windows and the inside was a completely disaster and the visors were broke and it was tho only choice I had. I barely made it to my destination in which I let uhaul know the situation and would report it to his supervisor. He asked me if I needed help but said no but would like some discount on renting this junk and not being maintained since the check engine light was on when I left. I brought it back cleaned and even armored wiped inside the seats and washed all windows and completly detailed the uhaul before dropping it off knowing I was gonna get some discount as per the uhaul agent had said. And yet after doing all this I got nothing but extra charges aim disputing here with
Keith GThe person at the front desk was not helpful, telling us that what we booked online was wrong. Then proceeded to charge us more for a dolly that we did not ask for but was the only one she had available (not our problem) after paying more for the appliance dolly, it didn't come with the straps that were supposed to be included. She wasn't even there when we arrived to drop off the vehicle. The truck was extremely dirty and we could not even see out of the windshield if the sun hit it, it was covered in dirt and sap. when the original pictures looked much cleaner and newer. We had to go to one location to pick up the dolly and then a different location to pick up the truck, which, when you're moving is highly inconvenient. We will not be coming back to this location and I would not recommend anyone else use it. The U-Haul dealer at the cottonwood cool storage is obviously new at this or doesn't really care about her customer experience... disappointing at best.
