Not super impressed with a $20 after hours service charge tagged on the bill. We dropped the truck off in the parking lot, put the key in a box and got charged $20 "service fee" for doing so.

This location was displaying a large confederate flag at the checkout counter. This symbol experienced a revival during Jim Crow as a response to the civil rights movement as a way to intimidate and oppose equal rights. It's a banner for white supremacy. If U-Haul endorses this I will take my business elsewhere and I would encourage others to do so as well.
Folks were great, vehicle was great. Processed the rental transactions before the first workday (today). Processed last night. Was amazed. Thank you. The electronic checkout turned out to be annoying since the system could not locate my phone (even though I was next door). Thanks again.
The rental place was a tobacco shop. The truck had an empty beverage cup in it and had dried spill marks on the front console. I was also promised a $50 certificate because I had to transfer locations. That never appears. This was a terrible experience. Uhaul should be ashamed of themselves for putting their customers through an ordeal like this.
The trailer was not dug out from all the snow that had fallen two days before our pick up date. We had to brush off all the snow from the top of the trailer. Also, a suggestion to UHAUL....put jacks on the hitches of the large trailers!!! They are SO heavy it's hard for one person to lift it onto the ball hitch of the truck - especially with 6" of snow on the top of it!

Would never recommend this location. Picked up trailer on Friday morning & told we could return it on Saturday afternoon BUT received a call at 8am Sat that they had a customer waiting for it. Ruined our weekend move!
Offer advice and assistance for hook up, or at least go out lot with customer when hitching up trailer
I was quoted $39.95 when I called for the cost of a transport trailer, when I arrived I was told the price was $109.95 and that she could not rent it for the price I was quoted. I finally agreed to settle for $54.95 because I had already made commitments for the equipment use that day. I was offered no apologies, no were sorry or thank you when we were done. I am a minority person and feel that is possibly the reason for my poor treatment.
Fill the tank it cost me $74 dollars to fill tank the person to use left me a quarter tank they should be checking this
Had a lot of people in the area standing around drinking coffee. I had to wait to get attention. Never went out to check the trailer I brought back. Seemed weird not to check it out.

#1: The lady did not even come out and make sure that we had everything in working order or if we had things hooked up right - she stayed in the building. She has my address wrong on the contract and not very friendly. #2: I booked the U-Haul trailer 1 month in advance through Paradigm Auto in Brainerd. The day before picking up the trailer I had called Paradigm because I had a question. Good thing I did because that is when I found out that I would have to drive 1 hour away to pick up a trailer! All the other times I have booked a U-Haul with Paradigm and that is where I picked up the U-Haul. Not happy that I booked it with plenty of time & there are like 6 U-Haul places in the Brainerd area but I had to drive an hour to get one!
Had some trouble hooking up but a couple guys at the farmer market came to the rescue.
Better customer service , there was none, barely any verbal communication, no help out side, when I got it and dropped off.
A u-haul rep called me and advised that a 10 ft. truck was not available after all. She gave me a free upgrade to the 15 ft. truck. She was professional. The Deerwood, MN, location could find my order. It said my driver's license was invalid !!!. The clerk was ok and apologized. I hope the free upgrade price extends to the extra day I had to rent the truck. It seems only right after my unique experience.

taillights didn't work
Personally tbh I talked to like 5 ppl on the phone some helped some didn't, then i go pick it up and have to go threw it all over again, and then they got it wrong they didn't even do the right milage sowhen I got back because I was in a hurry, they charged me again, because when I picked it up the counter person only put half the milage instead of listening to me and doing the paperwork. Ik if I made a mistake I'd be the one paying for it not the customer, because they screwed the pooch isn't the fault of the consumer
