I made a reservation two weeks in advance so that I would have a 9 foot Van to sell product at an Antiques Forum. When I arrived, there was no van available but a 10 foot van was offered in its place. The importance of having a side door and a low platform to load & unload was well planned by myself, but U-haul somehow failed to provide for this request; I have rented 172 times over the last 30 years and for the most part, it has been more than satisfactory. Logistics on this one occasion could have been better. Thank-you

When I arrived last Sunday morning, I was in & out of the office and on my way in what seemed like 5 minutes or less. When I returned the truck I was .02 over the estimate and thankfully the associate was able to override and eliminate those .02 so that I didn't have to dig around for pennies. Fantastic service, outstanding does not begin to describe it.

Not only did I put more gas than I used back in the truck, I left the gas receipt with my contract when I dropped it off. I was sill charged nearly 15 dollars the next day for fuel. It's fraud and the only reason such a stunt was pulled was because the truck was dropped off after hours and no one had to worry about such a stunt in person. I will never use this location again. Scumbag move.

Make sure that the customer sees the equipment with the customer service person while going through the initial paperwork for the vehicle. I was not shown the vehicle until the paperwork was signed then the vehicle was given to me. I never checked to make sure the paperwork had an accurate description of the fuel gauge. I believe that the reading on the fuel tank was different than that displayed on the paperwork, I went less than 50 miles, put in $14.00 of fuel @$2.10 per gallon and was charged for more fuel when I got back. Using my numbers, the MPG for the vehicle I used would be 7.69 MPG. By adding more fuel to the tank, which is what I was charged for, that would bring the MPG to somewhere south of 5 MPG which I cant believe is the standard for a truck of this size. In fact, now that I have thought this through, I know that someone in your service *ucked up.

The employees didn't answer the phone when I was trying to call enough in advance to let them know that I wouldn't be able to return the van I rented as early as I had initially committed to.. After calling 3 times with no response, I realized I could call the Customer Service number listed on the corporate website. The lady I spoke with was not helpful and made me commit to a time later in the same day, despite the fact that I was all alone with no help to unload and no place to store my things. She was pushy and rude, and complained that the customer "who made a reservation" for the van (15 minutes after I was scheduled to bring it back initially - that's just poor scheduling) was going to be upset with her. She made me feel as if I were not a valued and paying customer because I had been a walk-in the previous day and wasn't going to be on time to return the rental, despite my efforts to contact them sooner so they could arrange accordingly. In the end, I had been charged for another full day (and all the fees that go along with that, including a late fee which I had anticipated) and made twice the amount of work for myself due to having to temporarily store my things and move them again. When I tried voicing my experience to the employee upon returning the van, he was combative, distracted, and unwilling to actually listen to my concerns. This was my first experience with Uhaul, and all I can say is that the convenience of being able to load up in one vehicle in a pinch was absolutely not worth the headache and wasting so much money. They shouldn't accept PAYING walk-in customers if they aren't going to treat them the same as those who've made previous reservations. Not to mention, they totally ended up being able to rent the same van later on in that day, which means they got twice the amount of money for one day's use. I would not recommend this location to anyone I know, and discouraged a family member from renting one later on in that week. Even if the extra charges were warranted because of the contract I had signed, their customer service alone would be a reason for me not to return. Perhaps they need more employees - they had a hiring sign and an employee in training with one other employee when I first walked in to rent a van (after trying to call first without getting through.)
