I reserved a 17ft truck online well in advance of my scheduled pickup date. When I picked up three truck, the 17 foot trucks were given away. I was given a smaller truck that cost me more mileage and trips. I'll find a Budget next time. I refuse to allow uhaul to use negative tactics as an attempt to get more money. What is the point of a reservation if Uhaul will not honor?

I used your option for easy check-in and it was anything BUT. I arrived at 8am & was instructed by your internet directions to look for my vehicle to the "east near the fence". After chasing down multiple vehicles I had to wait for one of the busy lot attendants to locate the van for me. It turned out to be parked in the middle & to the front of the lot facing outward to the road (all the others faced inward allowing easy viewing of their ID numbers). Strike One. I then had to navigate through sodden wet lawn and puddles to do the pre-inspection as the van was parked so closely to the curb I had to get my shoes and jeans soaked in oder to navigate around the vehicle. Then your on-line photo app would not upload the pix so after 10 minutes of frustration I AGAIN had to wait for an attendant. The 1st guy just shrugged & told me he couldn't help & suggested I go inside for assistance. I went into the office & saw a long line so I returned to the lot & found a different attendent (who eventually did assist). When it came time for the "review" of my application, I waited & waited. After 13 minutes I AGAIN sought help & was told it was just your "busy time of day" & nothing could be done. Strike Two...and so much for "expedited" service. A different attendant then instructed me seek help in the office as he could do nothing for me in the lot. Inside I had to stand in a slow-moving line to wait my turn. Strike Three. At this point my movers called to say they were waiting at my home (they had arrived at 8:30am as we had agreed. I MISTAKENLY believed I would be able to get my vehicle & be home by then). So at this point I was now on the clock with them at a rate of $100/hour. Strike Four. After waiting in line I was FINALLY able to get outta there at NINE am, a full hour after my arrival. Strike Five. And finally, on the return, I was tired & was frustrated by the contract instructions for how to refuel. This had not been explained to me at pick-up. I only drove 49 miles but I ended up putting $32 of gas in (filling to capacity). When I returned the van I asked if I could be compensated for the over-fill but was dispassionately told, "No. It's in your contract. We don't refund for over fills." The attendant offered at THAT time to explain the "guide" for refueling to me. Too little. Too Late. Strike Six. (Question: do you only PARTIALLY fuel your fleet so that people routinely over-fill their gas consumption? Why not make it honest and a no-brainer by filling the tanks FULL so there is no ambiguity?). An over-all frustrating, costly (I was charged $50 for the half-hour that the movers stood around waiting for me, plus the overage for refueling) and unpleasant experience. Would not recommend.

I made an online reservation for self-pick up at 7am. I, along with another elderly couple who were there at the same time, were not able to pick up our uhaul trucks because we had not received information regarding how to retrieve the keys. The staff were inside but did not come out until we tapped the window. When they did come out, they said they did not have access to seeing what the problem was (they could see the reservation). My app showed an error, and when I called the customer service #, they recommended that I wait until 9am when the store opened because they too couldn't see what the error consisted of. I waited unnecessarily as I believe stores should have a back up plan when there are issues with technology if they permit early pick up times. Also, while I understand the store was not officially open, the staff was inside and could see us through the window and ignored us until we called for their attention. Overall, a poor level of customer service/problem solving.
