Reserved a 20 foot truck from 602 S Jefferson St Huntington, IN 46750. Received a confirmation e-mail the day before. Arrived there and the store was run down and scary to enter. They did not have a 20 foot truck for me. Told me I would have to take a 15 foot truck and then after thirty minutes said he could not let me leave with that truck either. I was transferred over to the 808 E Washington Blvd Fort Wayne, IN 46803 location. They were not able to find my contract or use my contract so had to start a new 'walk-in' contract. I waited for another hour, as the employee was on the phone with customer service trying to figure out how to complete the transaction. The truck I received was not in good working order, ran like garbage and had multiple previous claims that were not repaired. I have used U-Haul other times and never had such a bad experience. From this experience I would say U-Haul is going down hill. I would like part or all of my money returned.

The only thing I can think is to have more associates working, the gentleman that helped us the evening of 11/17 was very helpful and professional but could’ve used another associate to help because Saturdays have to be the busiest day to rent uhaul. He handled his customers patiently and professionally but there should be more than one person working.

Rented a truck 2 separate Saturday's, truck wasn't there either time, the first time I got to move all of my things from one 10 foot truck to another exact same 10 foot truck in the UHaul parking lot. I've literally paid $550 to Uhaul, ended up with 3 truck rentals instead of just 1, that isn't including the over $100 I spent on gas. As of tomorrow it would have been 2 weeks ago that I received a VM from the "DM" stating I could call him back or he would call me back. I've left no less than 4 messages for him to return my call, I have emailed him twice now and thus far I am yet to receive a call back. They did although find the time to charge me for another day of rental even though I was definitely at Uhaul before the 24 hours. Never in this process has anyone apologized, even when I simply called customer service to find out if the first $335 that I was charged was correctly they couldn't explain it. It almost takes an act of Congress to even talk to anyone at the store, it always just rolls over to the call center and their best solution to talk to the store is to keep calling every few minutes until you get the store. Worst experience ever.

They charged me before I returned the truck then charged me again. The manager left rude voicemail and tried to have me call his personal number instead of communicating through official channels or through the store. I will be filing a lawsuit against uhaul for fraud. This is the second time uhaul has charged me twice for same rental and it appears to be SOP for them. Another customer came in and was dealing with same issue as me. Uhaul employee took my copy of rental contract and ran off with it inside building and it was never seen again but it was on video.

There was no one to assist me when I cam into the location. This is NOT the first time this has happened. I had to call the location from inside the store only to find out the associate was hanging out in the bathroom. The U-haul provided smelled like body odor and cigarettes. Disgusting. I feel that I should be reimbursed.

The in store experience seems pretty repetitive of the online process. I’m also confused as to why all information was changed to my primary driver’s name. I’m still the customer if I’m paying for, insuring, and coordinating the rental service.

My final bill showed that I was charged for a utility dolly that I was not given nor did i use. I have made multiple attempts to have the problem rectified, however the customer service given by the store manager has been non-existent.

I was disappointed in the check in procedure. I rented a cargo trailer for 8 hours and when I received my receipt the next day I found I was charged for two days rental. I tried calling the store, on the 27th, several times but no one would answer the phone and it kept rolling over to an answering service. I left a message with the answering service for the manager to call me and as of this writing (10/31) I have yet to be contacted. I also contacted 1-800-GOUHAUL, on the 27th, and spoke to a customer representative ( she was very nice and polite ) and explained the overcharge. She pulled up the receipt and saw that I had not even had the trailer 24 hours and shouldn't have been charged for two days. She took my number and said someone will be contacting me within 48 hours. As of this writing, 10/31, I have yet to be contacted by anyone from UHAUL. I live in Indianapolis and had to drive to Ft. Wayne, go to the store and have the associate on duty call the manager to have my credit card refunded the extra day charge for the trailer rental. I am not only disappointed with the Ft. Wayne store but also with UHAUL Customer Service. As a result, my parents are in the process of moving to Florida and have decided to use a Penske rental instead of UHAUL.

It took a little while to find my reservation, the truck was not cleaned and had to wait while it got cleaned out therefore it was wet and slippery inside . I could not complete my move because I requested an appliance dolly and discovered that was not inside the truck , by that time the location was closed . Employees were nice but had no sense of urgency.
