When we picked up our U-Haul truck, it had clearly not be swept and was full of rocks, dirt, bits of concrete, and other garbage. We were also not provided ANY dollies, despite having reserved two at the time of booking, which was several weeks prior to the move. Due to not having the dollies we reserved, we were forced to do our entire move without dollies, which not only killed our backs, but it took longer than it should have, and we had to finish in the morning. This made us a few hours late with our drop off. Before dropping it off, I filled the tank up half way, which was exactly where it was when I picked it up. The following day, I received another invoice from U-Haul charging us with an extra day, a cleaning fee, and for fuel. I had to call them and explain that we were only late because they never provided us our dollies, which extended the duration of the move. I also explained that the fuel was topped up to exactly where is was when I picked it up, and that the truck was also dropped off with the exact same "cleanliness" as when we picked it up. They did eventually agree to drop the three additional charges, so good on them for that. However, I would still not recommend U-Haul in general, and will definitely look for other options in the future.
