I, unfortunately, had a very, very poor experience with my most recent truck rental. I made my initial reservation on February 16, 2026 from a location that showed online to have the vehicle I needed for pick up on March 7, 2026. I was contacted by your Team on extremely short notice on March 6th with the update that the location I reserved did not have my vehicle and I would need to choose a different location. I selected a location out of the 2 options provided to me. That change was inconvenient and frustrating as it did not align and was brought to my attention on extremely short notice; but, I can reasonably understand that vehicles move around and this could happen. Upon showing up at the Parkway Auto Body location, the experience became much worse. The pick up process took about 45 minutes because the staff there was having a very, very difficult time managing the U-Haul system. Then they informed me that they did not have the furniture pads that I had reserved, stating that the Corporate Rep should not have sent me to a location that didn't have the supplies I need, this was VERY disappointing as we really needed those pads for the antique furniture we were hauling. The checkout process was horribly unorganized and ultimately completed on the staffer's cell phone, making it extremely difficult to follow any details of the arrangement. And the truck was provided to me with a mere 1/8 of a tank of gas requiring an immediate gas stop to fill up. My February reservation cost amounted to $150.10, however, the March 7th charge came out to $171.19. The Parkway team charged me for furniture pads even though I did NOT receive any furniture pads (as explained above). Also, my initial reservation included Safemove Damage Coverage while my March 7th rental did NOT include the Damage Coverage. On my March 7th rental, it also states the gas meter shows 5/16 of gas, while there was actually only 1/8 of a tank. The return Rep did not mention this discrepancy but once I was able to pull up my drop off receipt on my home computer, I realized it shows a $58.32 charge. I have addressed these issues with Customer Service and Rep Ellen was exceptionally helpful in getting this resolved and refunded all charges made in error which definitely helped my perspective in wanting to work with U-Haul again.
