They worked very well through heavy customer volume. Though the line had backed up, the manager corrected and made adjustments that got everyone out and on Their way quickly..

I have been overcharged. I rented the pick-up truck at 5.37pm on 06/03/2017 and returned it same day at 9.00pm on 06/03/2017 within the 4hr rental period I was entitled to but this store charged me for 2days rental and collected an extra day of insurance. I will like the charges to be corrected and a refund issued to me. I even returned the truck with more gas than i was given.

The Garner store is in need of some technical expertise in the hitch installation area. I brought my vehicle in at 7am to have electronics added so I could tow a trailer instead of renting a vehicle. I was told it would be a quick and easy 30 minute job. After an hour and a half I asked how things were coming along to find out that they couldn't figure out how to get my break lights working with the attachment. The store did not have enough staff to dedicate an employee to working on it, so my car was a low priority item as I sat around watching the staff help each and every customer as my car sat in the garage. After 3 hours I had someone come pick me up, and asked to be called with any updates. 2 hours later I returned to find out that they were at a complete stand still with no idea what to do. I was asked to take my vehicle and go, with no working brake lights. I would have then had to take it to an actual mechanic and pay to have it fixed out-of-pocket. Before I left, and to their own surprise, they managed to at least restore the break lights to their original functionality. At this point it had been 7 hours since I arrived in the morning, with no functional progress made on my vehicle. But hey, at least I won't have to pay someone else for fixing their work. Wrong, I discovered the next day that the auto-cruise on my vehicle is no longer operational. So now I need to take that in to have it worked on, and make sure nothing else of their doing will cause issues in the future. Back in the store, I had to rent a vehicle and deal with the huge increase in cost, because the simple installation I was promised couldn't be completed. With that and the loss of 7 hours of my time, I asked for the van they offered to be given at the price I was quoted for the 5' x 8' box trailer. I had been working with the store manager all day and he assured me there was absolutely no way to discount the price. My frustration and disappointment in U-haul was so high that if I could have gotten in touch with any other service, or if I had the time to wait go somewhere else, I absolutely would have. But left with no other choice, I rented a cargo van and after a total of 8 hours I finally left the store. I could have loaded up my things, driven to my destination, unloaded, and probably arrived back home had things gone that way I had been assured they would. To the Garner stores credit, the van I received was almost brand new and in immaculate condition. I finally returned it to the store at 1am in the morning the day after renting it. My only comment is that the floor pads in the cargo area should be cut to the correct size and adhered in some way so they don't slip as you try to move your stuff on them. To top the whole experience off, I got a phone call from an employee the following day asking where the "truck" I rented was. This led to even greater confusion as I didn't rent a truck, and their van was sitting in their return line since the moment they opene

We reserved a truck at a location of HWY. 42 but the previous renter didn't return the truck leaving us with no truck to us. I called the Scheduling department and to my surprise they found an available truck at the Mechanical Blvd. location. The call center was really nice and quick. The customer service staff at the Mechanical Blvd store was quick and helpful too. What started out as a difficult day all worked thanks to the Mechanical Blvd. store! They rock!

The process took me well over an hour and a half of just filling out the paper work and getting the keys to the uhaul. The person who rented the truck before me apparently had run into something with the top of it and damaged it. Lynwood the manager on duty seemed to be the only one there who knew how to do anything. The other employees seemed clueless. He was supposed to repair the vehicle but every time he started to repair it, another customer would come in and he would go attend them instead of finishing the job so I could leave. After over 30 minutes of waiting I eventually asked him if I could just use it without him repairing it first because I had a lot of things to do. He said yes and let me just use it, since there were no issues with the vehicle causing it not to be safe or road legal. Damages were cosmetic. I was very unpleased and dissatisfied with my experience and will not be using this location ever again.

Uhaul didn't allow enough miles is the only complaint. By the time we picked up, went to our home, loaded, drove to new home, started unloading, drove to motel for night, back to home, finish unloading, return to uhaul we were over mileage with no extra driving around. Other than that, Great!

After being told that I had to drive to a u-haul store 18 miles away because they were the closest store that had the trailer I needed, I arrived to find out that they did NOT have said trailer available and I would have to take something less or drive another 20+ miles further away if I wanted said trailer. The associate who assisted me was extremely helpful and she reduced the mileage rate to help offset the cost but it took 2 trips instead of one thus costing me more $ and time. Good people, disappointing experience.

My booking was moved from the Tryon Toad location to the garner location one day befor the move. The equipment was clean but worn out. With Almost 70000mi on it the steering was bad. Driving on the highway was scary because the transmission made the entire truck shake when driving between 50 and 60 mph.
