This review is for the western way location(8243 Western Way Cir Jacksonville FL 32256) that the reservation was originally set for. I originally set the reservation up on Wednesday. I called to confirm the reservation and move up the pickup time to 1 pm. When I arrived I was told there were no rentals available at that location. Apparently the vehicle was not functioning properly and the district manager advised to not rent out the 9' cargo van. When I asked the office represenative(female) why was a reservation allowed to be set, she rudely stated she "didn't know. "No one ever called me prior to state otherwise. Even when I called the morning of the pickup no one told me this. I ended up on hold with the customer service department while they located a different location for a pickup( south side and beach). I was not able to get a rental until approx. 2:15 thus delaying my moving time. The experience at the beach and south side location was friendly fast and efficient. However, this experience overall with U-haul was poor.

Very poor customer service. They kept me stucked in there for three hours to take a damn truck. They didn't know how to place and cancel an order in the computer. The salesman started yelling and threatning us. Absoulutely disgraceful. This was the first and last experience with uhaul.

I got the 26' truck for my move - it was damaged on both sides and scratched significantly. Did the job without any problems



Excellent location! Cashier was very helpful and polite. I would use them again. The 5630 Phillips highway & University location were very rude?? It was unnecessary !



The general manager was a little rude



1. You should not have to wait in line 20 minutes to check out your truck. U-haul need to implement a system that helps employee check out a truck in 2 minutes. 2. You need more people. charge $29 a day and have one extra person on staff. 3. Again, I should not have to stand in line 20 minutes to return my truck. 4. All your employees are upset, mean and nasty. Why? because management puts them in bad situations. If I worked for U-haul I would Quit. Now, I know why every time I rent a truck I have to deal with a new employee. They all Quit. After 2 years of bad service, I will rent from a different company. Just like your employees ( I Quit)

We had to wait in line for a long time due to the customers in front of us. It seemed like there was a new employee and that may have been why the wait was extra long.

There was no parking lot except on the side of the bldg. You have to back up over a curb into oncoming traffic. Also, there is no overhead to get out of the rain when checking out/in. Truck was so badly damaged we didn't have time to go over all damages completely with the clerk. She was rushing us so she could get out of the rain. I had a better experience at this store before this. I will find another store next time.

I like how when I pulled up to drop off the vehicle, someone was immediately there to help me check everything back in. I did not have to go in to the building, he checked everything, and signed me out with his phone. This was a smooth process, and was very helpful.

Customer service, in and out fast pace should be a motto for all U-Haul places. Sadly, the wait time was ridiculous! 1 person assisting while 6 people wait in line. Systems should be simplified so that customers can get back to what they need to do instead of waiting for a uhaul.

Everybody was ready to help anybody who needed help



When you read this comment please come out of "employee mode" and look at the situation from the scope of a customer. The whole experience from reserving the rental online to the actions of the employees at the location was a total nightmare! When you go somewhere and spend your money, you expect to be valued and respected. You also dont expect to have to waste 4 hours of your life in the process of reserving and returning a rental. All of the staff memebers that were present need to be fired!!! The clerk Merle Jones was uneducated and unaware of simple store processes. She did not properly use her resources. I had to call the customer service line several times to aid her. Secondly, Kevin was rude and unprofessional. She denonstrated total aggression when demanding my family member to move her car. He literally had his chest erect and his fist clenched as if he was preparing for a battle towards my 5'3" female family member. To make things worse Konnya Ferris proposed a threat to me by aggressively coming into my space and provoking me. I was seated at the far left end of the store and he didnt see me there. He started lying and talking disrespectfully about my family member due to the issue that stemmed from Kevin's aggression. I corrected him and told him instead of blaming my family member for the incident, he needs to hold his coworker accountable for his. He did not like that and he aggressively aproached me while I was seated. He made me feel very threatened so I stood up to defend myself. I told him over 10 times to get out of my face. He constantly said "No." or "Or what?" as if he was provoking me to get physical. The most startling fact about this whole thing is after the escaltion of the issue with Konnya and I, Merle surprisingly knew what number to dial. She got her manager on the phone in less than 10 seconds. Yet she wasted two hours of my time! The same number she dialed to get assistance at that moment should have been the same number that she dialed to assist her through the process from the beginning. Had I not been there wasting my time, none of this would have occurred. I will carry something on my back on a road of spikes before i ever choose uHual again!!!
