I picked up the truck with 1/8 tank of gas, dash said â€œ25 miles to emptyâ€. I returned the truck with 1/8 tank of gas, dash said â€œ50 miles to emptyâ€. I was charged for gas anyway... very dissatisfied with my experience from reservation to drop off.George P.
Still in trauma from the truck pick up, I made a special effort to get the truck back while the drop off business was still open. As I anticipated, the app gave me a hassle. It could not acknowledge my location, even though my phone settings were correct and no other app ever gave me such a problem. I spent a while trying to get the app to work, but gave up and eventually called the drop off location. (the app makes it clear that there is a fee involved if I needed manual intervention.) Long story short - a very helpful man at the drop off location took care of me and we were all set. In conclusion - U-Haul should immediately decommission their app and conduct a complete overhaul and TESTING before pushing it out on the public. We came away with simple anger, time, and frustration, but it could have been a lot worse if we had relied too heavily on the implied services of that app. Great concept; poor execution.Richard M.

I think customers should be made aware that U-haul makes it seem like you are picking up your truck near your home but they call you the afternoon before and say sorry, you have to drive a half hour away to pick up your truck!!! Nothing you can do but pay out of pocket for a Lyft driver!!! No, this is not a one time exception- every one of my last 4 rentals have been the same way!!!! Beware!!! And, they don't care - when I called to protest, the just said â€œdo you want the truck or not?â€.Walter Z.

The phone was never answered. Only had a message starring business is only for U-Haul app pickups of trucks. Unfortunately this does not work for trailers.Alan R.
I did the preliminary process via the app the day before pick up and I still had to enter my license again. In addition at pick up is asked for additional confirmation, another contact person, passport, ssn card etc which was not previously mentioned. I was not prepared for this and used my wife as an additional contact. Of course when the agent tried contacting her she didn't answer the phone, delaying the pick up process. The app also kept saying there wasn't an internet connection even though I had excellent signal strength.Brian F.

Location is essentially an abandoned car lot. No one is ever around. I've tried knocking on the "office" door and even calling with no response. The location is convenient to drop off as it is very close to my house, but I cannot imagine what it would be like to pick anything up from this location.Matthew F.

The location was odd in that there was only one truck on the lot, and the office Wolves at the rear a strange old fashioned car showroom with 2 old vehicles. However the representative was very knowledgeable and sorrow I did a very good job with the rental, although the appliance dolly was not loaded on the truck and I had to return to the location to pick it up.Howard S.

The owner attempted to charge my card multiple times even after I told him I had did the early check in prior to arrival. He delayed me at the location for an hour in total. He put the wrong return time on the paperwork and gave me attitude when I refused to sign it. The truck was in subpar condition where my drivers door barely closed. He didn't have my dolly and blankets ready so I had to wait even longer because he went on to assist another customer.Connee K.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the locations I rented the truck from, it's all just with how UHaul operates. My original reservation was for a 10' truck with an appliance cart at East Penn Storage Fleetwood, PA. The reservation was moved to Maxatawny Automotive, once there I was told that my reservation was for a 15' truck, furniture pads, and a regular hand truck. The gentleman at Maxatawny Automotive was nice enough to give me the $1 he couldn't remove from the bill for the furniture pad I was being charged for, but informed me they had no appliance carts. After speaking with customer service, I was told I'd have to go to a third location for my appliance cart. About an hour later Maxatawny Automotive called and let me know an appliance cart was returned, and I could pick it up no charge. I usually use Penske, but I figured I would try UHaul since the location was closest to my home. I figure in the future I'll return to using Penske, even if I have to drive a little further out of my way.ChristieAnne W.
