OK – I rented the tandem 8 x 12' trailer. There is no jack on this trailer so I used a scissor jack of my own to connect this and disconnect this from my truck. I tried to lift it without the jack but I would estimate it has an empty tongue weight of about 150 pounds. That is way too heavy for most people including me at 69 years of age but otherwise physically strong! It would be very easy for U-Haul to weld a jack mount on this trailer so that a jack can be mounted and then swung out of horizontal and re-pinned when on the road. I'm surprised that U-Haul has not had people sue them for physical damage to their backs when trying to lift the tongue of this trailer.

Giuseppe MBall hitch size required needs to be made clear in the booking process. I had a ball hitch that was too big, had to purchase one from the store, paid over the regular price for it. This took the edge off what was overall a good transaction and experience.
