Suggest best places to get fuel that is easy to get in and out of easily close by. Other than that Jeff and the evening staff were great. Made reservation online the night before, came in, picked it up; perfectly clean and in good shape. However, in this digital age, suggest taking pictures of all sides of the vehicle; the inspection takes a few minutes, but pictures always help.

Move lockbox from the walkway to the size of the building, I about knocked myself out on the damn thing. A child could get REALLY hurt not paying attention and running up the walk way. I saw stars I hit it so hard just walking up the walkway not paying attention.

The desk man was rude & very unhelpful. Acted as if I were stupid when I askwd him how to self check out. Said "you check yourseld out" when I aske how he said never mind I will just do it. I am an IT professional and can easily navigate technical issues. I did not appreciate his tone or lack of customer service.

My contract number was 93362033. The location was clean and the young lady who assisted me on-site was very nice. However, there was an issue with the vehicle, a cargo van I rented to drive from Winter Springs to Stuart, Florida to pick up a generator and AC unit from my brother to assist with my daughter's power outage as a result of Hurricane Irma. I contacted the office after about an hour of my drive to Stuart to complain about fumes in the van. The woman who took my call said she did not know much about the vans and would contact someone who did, however, she never got back to me. I continued to make calls to the customer service line and requested that all calls be recorded and a copy sent to me as no one seemed to be providing any guidance until the last call I made, which was on my way back from Stuart, when I was within miles of my home. I let the representatives know that the odor bothered my chest. The last representative offered to call roadside assistance, as did the representative before her, however the representative before her never transferred me to roadside assistance as she indicated she would, I was disconnected. Either way, the last representative was the most helpful but I was so close to home that sitting on the side of the road waiting for roadside assistance was not something I was willing to do being so close to my home by then. That evening after returning the vehicle I realized I'd left my keys in it but had already dropped the key to the rental. I contacted the location I rented from the next morning and left a message. I received a call from a gentleman who told the vehicle I'd rented the day before had been re-rented and he would contact the individual to see if they could locate my keys. I asked the individual how they could have rented out the same vehicle so quickly after I'd reported the problem with fumes in the car. He responded that he checked the vehicle and it was fine. I asked him if he had driven the problem because the issues did not show up immediately when I rented the vehicle, it took 30-40 minutes before I noticed the fumes were getting worse leaving me no choice but to drive with the windows open, which took more gas. He said he had not driven the car, just checked it out. I was very unhappy and asked him how he could place another customer in that vehicle. I let him know that I'd had trouble sleeping the night before because my chest was so heavy. He insisted he did not notice any issues with the car and asked me what I wanted him to do. I could not believe he would ask me for this direction and told him that it was U-Haul's liability issue, not mine but from a humanitarian issue what he did was wrong. During a time like everyone was faced with the threats related to Hurricane Irma, I could also not believe that the most U-Haul, as large a corporation as they are, was only offering affected customers a free month rent, which is generally what is offered anyway. Charged me for extra fuel, extra day and extra mileage. None of this was explained to me when I picked the truck up, this is just not right. I will never rent from UHaul again.
