What can U-Haul do to improve? -- Prevent future nationwide IT issues that compromise the schedules, plans, and lives of renters. -- Maintain vehicles better. My U-Haul was dirty, inside and out. NOT SANITIZED. The roll-up door got stuck while we had a truck full of belongings packed and sitting in a loading zone before rush hour.

There is an outstanding Customer Action claim directly related to the horrific, dangerous and negligent experience that I had when I rented from this location. HORRIBLE.This issue was not resolved on the local level. The manager went around and around without taking responsibility for an unsafe vehicle. He kept asking if I noticed anything unusual when I did the walk around…that is a huge liability leaving it up to the consumer to assume that a truck is safe just by walking around it. He was rude and condescending and from what I heard on the phone with him, he didn't understand nor empathize with the gravity of the issue. Then he kept insisting that the tire damage was from a curb since the tire treed was “fine"… which 1) is not true with this truck and I told him the tires were old, 2) how does he explain the tires on BOTH sides of the truck having issues and had to be replaced along a busy fwy and 3) I have witnesses who were driving behind me from the time I left the U-Haul lot until we luckily pulled over to the side of the fwy on the 201 Eastbound. I also returned the truck early and did not complete my move since I was unsure of the trucks safety. I'm not paying for this rental. If it weren't for the person following me, the outcome would have been catastrophic. However, I see that I was charged full price for this. I will be happy to let everyone I know on social media as well as my friends at ABC and NBC news know about the way this matter was treated.

the owner Ken is EXTREMELY RUDE that pissed me off just because I was10-15 minutes behind a d forgot my key the the lock, I opened it eventually but he was very UNPROFESSIONAL AND YELLING. The employees are super helpful though

For personal use and business use I've used UHaul locations for 20 years. This was the most helpful, personable, worked hard to get me taken care of. Had an issue with the lights on my hitch and they figured out the parts, called the other location to set me up. I was with my son and they were so kind to him, engaged him as a customer and gave him a UHaul truck that he loves and sits on his school desk. I have not encountered a location with such high regard for their customers. I witnessed this with the other customers I saw them work with. Having 20 years in the service industry I know good leadership and service when I see it.

This location came to the rescue after the Burbank location failed to have my 20” truck (reserved/guaranteed) available at 10am. I would have been left without a moving vehicle if it weren't for this Atwater place. They were awesome.

The lock was a little hard to pull off of the back. Also the screening process involving passport, an alternate contact, or lease agreement should happen long before pickup day. If i picked up at a time when people were asleep i would not have been able to use a contact as a reference and thus would have been stuck without a truck.

Your reservation process should allow employees to simply assign a truck when your phone app reservation system FAILS. We had to wait close to 30 minutes for a phone app approval. LOSE THE PHONE APP, it is worthless and a waste of time!

First of all the person in charge was so unprofessional, he needs to go to get some advice how to treat customers the right way, without attitude and kind of discrimination, some body needs to show him the right way how to treat the customer, l think he didn't treat me right because of my accent or he didn't like me at all? well, you need to do something about this gentleman.
