It took us one hour to get the truck. There is no person available at the pick up location. And i tried calling maybe 3x to ask for help and all i get is a customer representative that will tranfer me to another representative that will tale around 20 mins wait. Then she can't help me so i have to call a different number. Very bad service and vert inefficient.

Awesome service from Hotwire. U Haul customer service however took forever because of the computer system not accepting my card and having to call my rental in over the phone.
The pick up site was some kind of after market auto shop. Took a long time to just pick up the vehicle. We were told that they closed at 6pm and if we got back after that to put the key in the uhaul drop box outside the door. We arrived back at 4pm and they were already closed. Put the key in the drop box as instructed. Received a call 3 days later from uhaul that the truck was 3 days past due and they wanted to know if we could tell them where their truck was. Seriously?
I picked a location on the website and nothing was said that they didn't have a 20 ft truck. I received a call from corporate office the day before and then changed location. Then the location said they would be open and we're not and had to wait an extra half hour. Didn't have blankets as confirmed do had to go to another location. Very disorganized. Just wish you could have gotten wait was originally confirmed.
The facility was great, the person helping me was great, UHAUL's service was unacceptable however

I will say that the lady was Very nice at our pickup location but because U-Haul doesn't make sure her access to your computer system is available the whole thing is very shady. It started out that when I reserved the truck online I requested to pick up in Monee, I had to pick up in Matteson, we arrived at in Matteson and the place was closed. I had to call and she said she had no reservation for me to pick up the truck that is why she wasn't there. She told me to hang on and said "oh it just came through" (I made it a few days earlier so I doubt it just came through) I will be there in 20 minutes. So all together we waited over a half hour for someone to open the business for a truck we had reserved in advance! When she finally arrived she was unable to log into the U-Haul system and we had to wait longer for her to speak to a few custom service reps trying to troubleshoot the problem. They had no luck so she had to have U-Haul customer service check the truck back in from the previous rental customer and then check it back out to us. We never received any paperwork, any mileage information or what was included on the truck (dollys, pads etc..) She just told us how much gas was in the truck. We ended up keeping the truck longer then expected and I left a message for the merchant where we picked the truck up but never received a call back so I thought all was well. I was wrong!! I received a call from All at U-Haul telling me He is reporting the truck stolen. At this point we are driving this truck, had we been pulled over We would have been arrested!!! Are you kidding me?? I called him back to let him know I had left a message for the lady at the pickup location. He wasn't very friendly. Next we brought the truck back on Sunday at 3pm. The drop-off location was closed so we dropped the keys in the box. On Monday I get not only a phone call but an email from U-Haul wondering where their truck is?? Ummm it's in your retailers parking lot since YESTERDAY! Unfortunately we missed putting a dolly back when returned the truck and the retailer left a message to return it, I called asap but her phone only rings. I tried texting but no response. I don't want to leave it outside the business and be responsible when it is stolen. Then today I get an emailed statement and I am charged for 6 missing furniture pads (never had any in the truck) $110 for damages (no listing on the statement as to what the supposed damages are) there were no damages to that truck in or out when we dropped it off that were not already there. They stated our mileage was 180 miles, our move was 4 miles from our house. There is no way we put that many miles on the truck. I think they are charging us for the previous renters mileage plus ours. Again, we had no paperwork at pickup or drop-off stating mileage, extras that were on the truck...nothing. I didn't even request any extras at time of reservation. They are trying to rip us off big time!!!
Awesome customer service I would not go anywhere else to rent a truck.
Though a holiday, and with no reservation, the Agent came in and accommodated our needs for that move. She was very gracious and patient. I strongly recommend her to anyone.

This is not a review of Hotwire Electronics specifically, but Uhaul as a whole. I will preface by saying that the individuals at Hotwire Electronics were polite, though a bit tardy. Uhaul, however, will need to seriously improve its business model if they expect to keep customers. According to the U.S. Census Bureau the average American family will move 11.7 times in a lifetime... I plan on doing all 10.7 of the remaining with a different company. Firstly, I find it nearly impossible that I live within 5 miles of three different Uhaul locations, yet each of those didn't have the equipment I reserved. Uhaul's policy is to wait until the day before your move to call you and tell you that you're going to need to drive 40 miles out of your way to pick up your truck. This must happen frequently because two days after I moved Uhaul did the exact same thing to one of my friends. The customer service rep that I spoke with about this was not helpful in the slightest, and her only suggestion was cancelling my reservation. So it appears that the business model may not be the only problem. Overall, I'd rate my experience as a 1 out of 10, and I cannot say enough about how bad of a taste has been left in my mouth about Uhaul.
Very poor customer service - reflects negatively on the U-haul brand. They behave more like an affiliate of U-haul and did not take responsibility for our U-haul transactions. Also, persons answering phones on everyone occasion I called was unprofessional.
I was charged for another full day because I brought the truck back 11/2 hour past opening of location. I was under the impression I could use the truck for up to 24 hours. I needed the truck for longer than the time I was given. This policy should be explicitly stated. I am not happy with the extra charge for 11/2 hours.
Overall I was disappointed with my service. I reserved a truck online a week out from my move date from Chicago to Normal. The day before they tried to cancel the truck at my preferred location which was .5 miles from my apt. and I get sent 30 miles away to get a truck which is unacceptable. I get to the location and they didn't have the moving blankets I requested. I've used uhaul in the past quite a bit but after this experience I will most likely source out other options in the future.
Big storm when we got to Chicago everyone was having power problems, the young lady assure me they would send me confirmation by several ways, that the trailer was delivered and she did.
