My receipt clearly states that I drove a whole four (4) miles and yet I was charged for two gallons of gas $6.75. When I went to ask about this and get a quick credit as I was clearly overcharged the employee named Max would not help me. I really think that he just did not know how to give a credit back to my card and did not want to admit this so he played around with the computer for awhile like he was hoping for some divine intervention. One employee even suggested that when the trucks are loaded down then don't get good gas milage. I looked at her and said, "Two miles per gallon? and also that the only thing I transported was a couch without the cushions. At that she walked away. If there was a two-gallon minimum I should have been made aware of that and I was not. Your employees clearly have no customer service training to help them through what should have been an easy fix. Instead, Max insisted on arguing with me that the fuel gage needle had moved and that's what they went off which may be true but those are not accurate, but the odometer is very accurate and it indicated that I drove a total of four miles which is about a quarter of a gallon, not two gallons. Anyway, this was a complete failure in the customer service department and I want ACE to do well and thrive and even sometimes go there because I want to support my local business instead of Home Depot but this makes it harder for me to justify that. I know about customer service because I went through the WalMart management training and helped them open three stores here in Connecticut and I have been a practicing physical therapist for over 30 years and own my own business. Vehicle had 134,00 miles plus miles and transmission felt like it was slipping a bit.
ROBERT OI am use to doing.a vehicle inspection with a person from the rental company..I did not like being told by a store staff to walk around the vehicle and use .y phone camera and note any scratches or damage. I DO NOT LIKE THAT !!! To much room being left open for interpretation...if this is a way to cut back on staff..I.dont like it !!! If the is a practice put in place to move the check in procedure along...I don't like !!! The staff at this location although they were very pleasant to do business with I feel that they realize that a customer is 100% responsible once he takes possession of the truck..wether its old damage or new damage. Case in point ..when inspected the vehicle I was about to rent the outside was fine.. But the cargo area was trashed !!! I had to ask a store to inspect it and note it on the vehicle record...I believe a staff person should assist the customer with a check in process and check out process.
