This location on Monticello Road was small, but turned out to be VERY convenient (they have gas pumps on site- gas was competitively priced, and saved me from looking for a gas station.) The employee was friendly and helpful. He checked me in quickly, and parked the truck for me. Easiest and least stressful part of moving!

The experience of picking up the vehicle was extremely frustrating. The store clerk clearly had very little experience in renting uhauls at this location. The first problem was a language barrier, it was very difficult to communicate with him. Another problem was getting him to focus on the task at hand. Every time a customer came in to buy cigarettes, liquor, etc. he would run to the counter to take care of them. After 20 minutes of this, I asked if he could please finish checking out the truck as I was in a hurry. He asked if I could help him, as he was still stuck on the first screen. As I walked him through the process, he insisted on filling out information on pages that were irrelevant, such as towing with the vehicle. I told him to click "next" as was indicated in red on the screen, but he kept going to the previous page and starting over. When he ran to the register to take care of the endless parade of customers again, I was able to click through to the final pages. He returned, and somehow managed to complete the checkout with some coaching. It took over a half hour to get my rental. After getting the keys, I saw the gas level was lower than was indicated on the paperwork. Normally I would have tried to resolve this before taking delivery, but couldn't imagine how much time it would have taken if I went back inside. I was running late, so decided it wasn't worth my time , and just left. The truck was in overall good condition, but the floor had heavy oil stains, as if someone had moved an engine or something leaking at one point. Wouldn't have minded, but I was moving some nice furniture. This was a one way rental, and the experience of returning the truck to another location could not have been easier. The clerk was great to work with, and knew exactly what to do. I have rented uhauls before, and will again, but never at valley liquor and gas in Napa CA. Please make sure the clerk who works on Saturday gets some training, so the next renter does not have to go through this.

I'm a regular U-Haul customer and I'm sorry to say this pickup experience fell far short of satisfactory. Although I had already done Express Check-In on the computer, the clerk took a long, long time to process the rental; he didn't seem to know what he was doing and spent a lot of time on the phone. Then when he finally finished we went out behind the building, he pointed out the trailer, and walked away--no inspection, lights check or assistance in hooking up. This is not good customer service.

I doubt that I will ever rent from UHaul again. The equipment was in poor condition - one of the tires blew on the auto transport and started fish-tailing all over the highway. I was lucky to avoid hitting any other vehicles. The location where I picked up the truck and trailer didn't have the dolly I reserved. They didn't know how to hook up the auto transport and were reluctant to help me figure how to attach it. Their excuse was "i'm only a cashier". Needless to say, this was the WORST experience I have ever had. I will be using a competitor from now on.

I waited for almost an hour for the person to come back to the site for me to check out my reserved trailer. When I did check out the trailer, I realized after driving away that one of the tires was almost flat. I stopped at the nearest gas station to fill it up and check the other tire. They both required air but seemed to hold after that for the duration of my travel. I kept checking just to make sure.
