The worker would not let us return the van there. We had called to confirm less than 20 minutes dropping it off. Very unprofessional.

I was relocated to another drop off center despite confirming 2x that it would be at the originally booked location. Representative was very unprofessional and rude during the check-out phase. The trucks defroster did not work and created a extremely dangerous driving experience during the rain. Overall, it was a miserable experience and I will never use uhaul again regardless of the circumstances.

You provided the worst mechanical shape I ever found at a U-Haul place. The breaks are not properly set, the left mirror shaking out of position, the automatic door lock not operational. When we went to return the vehicle I had to walk into the street looking for a translator. Your attendant couldn’t speak one word of English. Over all of this you charged $50.00 clean up fee !! What did you clean? I got my first désappointement over a long period of service. In 2017 I paid more than $5,000.00 of rental without meeting such an outrage. Thank you for asking. On a very tight double parked street in Harlem, the personnel made me reverse Park the 20’ feet Uhaul. I asked him if was proficient enough and he could do it for me as I was struggling but he refused.

Location would not let me return the vehicle despite the reservation I made 4 weeks ago. They said they had too many trucks being returned that day, not enough parking and there were clearly 4 open slots available in the lot (and it was 3:30 in the afternoon not 11 pm). Clerk was rude and sent me to a location in the Bronx -10-15 miles away. Issue was resolved by Newport location who had their scheduler call the owner/manager of the two East Harlem locations. TOTAL s-t how and poor, unhelpful service. Location also lacked air conditioning.

When i called the 1 800 number i was told that this location was the only one with availability for the next day even when i specified that i can pick one up in tunnaly nj.. Leaving me no choice to pick one up from E 119st for 2.50 a mile.. The next day when i picked it up my friend rented one from the tunnaly location on the same day for 1.25 a mile thus leaving me with a high bill..very disappinted.. Next time ill try some other company..thx

I made the reservation for my truck almost two months in advance. I reserved 1- 26 foot truck, 1- 2 wheel dolly, 1- 4 wheel dolly and 2 dozen blankets. A week before I realized that I only needed a 17 foot truck so I changed that on the reservation and kept everything else the same. On the rental day only a 20 foot truck was available with 1- 4 wheel dolly. No 17 foot truck, no 2 wheel dolly and NO blankets. I told him this was unacceptable and he said this is a busy time so that is all he had. I told him that I made my reservation two months ago. He said he tried contacting two locations, but neither one had the equipment. He gave me the number and said I could call around myself to find the equipment. When I tried calling the number he gave me, it was the number to file an accident claim with U-haul. Totally useless!!!

U-Haul #28130 of East Harlem fraudulently overcharged me for fuel and labor, claiming I returned the vehicle at 1/8 tank and not 3/8 tank as required. They are also claiming that the vehicle was returned with additional 20 miles [3281] than the actual odometer [3261]. Despite emails and chat texts with corporate AND MY PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE to show the mileage and fuel gauge at the time of return, they are insisting their word against my evidence. Furthermore, I have just been informed that the same vehicle has allegedly been in the shop since it was returned over a week and a half ago. The vehicle not only drove fine when I had it but if that is the case, who knows what issue the vehicle is having and why they are fraudulently overcharging me. I have a photo to prove my claim against their word. I have the chat transcript with U-Haul corporate customer service. I emailed them immediately after reviewing the final receipt and they did not respond. I have transcript of the online chat with corporate about the incident and they sided with the franchise and did not offer to review my photo evidence. They have completely RIPPED. ME. OFF. in both possible capacities. I have contacted my bank to reverse the charges, and the NY Department of Consumer Affairs to investigate them for systematic fraud. I will NOT RELENT until I get a FULL REFUND for this outright fuckery from thieves.
